- Press Home on your Roku remote.
- Scroll and select Settings.
- Select display type.
- Select one of the available display types and press OK on your remote.
NOPE, DIDNT WORK? I have been through every other setting and no luck. Oh and mine doesnt have option for "display type". What you talkin about Willis?
Ricg777, what kind of Roku device are you having a problem with? Only Roku players have a "Display type" setting; Roku TVs do not.

what are you talking about? and what is a Roku Player? "R" Rated?
Mine is a Kogan TV, ROKU O/S, and screen said to be Samsung used by Kogan. It is a Smart Roku TV and has Apps like my free to air TV Channels and Apps like Netflix, Stan, Prime etc etc. The Apps work but all TV stations on Roku and Computer are badly flawed, any Television which is not an App, is "INSANELY DARK"

This thread is about a Roku Player. As mentioned above, a Roku TV will not have a Display type setting, because the manufacturer knew what kind of TV they built your Roku into.
It would probably be better to start your own thread and make it clear what kind of device you have. Unfortunately, I’ve never heard of Kogan, but including Kogan in the thread title is more likely to attract someone who knows something about it.
Also, terms like “badly flawed” are kind of vague. “INSANELY DARK” would make me think: backlight failure, but not if its only some of the time.

Have had my Roku ultra have issues with Youtube tv consistently on Samsung q80r. Poor pic quality that varies in severity- yet the same app on Samsung TV gives excellent quality.
no other issues on Roku viewing other apps.I have another Roku ultra on an another Samsung Tv that has no issues with any apps.
