Roku Media Player suddenly stopped working

My Roku Ultra with the Roku Media Player has been working with my miniDLNA media server for some time with no issues. Today (3/28/2023) it recognizes the server but it displays an error message that says no compatible audio (or photos) are available. I have reinstalled the app, rebooted the Roku, and removed power for a cold boot. Nothing changed. Has a new version of the app appeared to cause this failure?

    It's working for me here with a miniDLNA server (Roku OS v11.5, RMP version 5.5 build 13).  Given that development on RMP seems to have ceased I'd be surprised if there was an update.

    Have you verified that your miniDLNA server is working via some other device?  Perhaps its database needs to be rebuilt.

      Yes... all Roku software is up to date, and I can access my miniDLNA server normally from my phones, tablet, and computers (both Windows and Linux). All other Roku functions and apps are working normally.

        Thank you for the post.

        If your Roku Media Player has suddenly stopped working, there are a few things you can try to troubleshoot the issue:

        • Restart the Roku device: Sometimes restarting the Roku device can help resolve the issue. Go to the Settings menu, select System, and then choose System Restart.
        • Check for updates: Make sure that your Roku device is running the latest software version. Go to the Settings menu, select System, and then choose System Update. If there are any updates available, follow the on-screen instructions to install them.
        • Reinstall Roku Media Player: Go to the Roku Channel Store, find Roku Media Player, and then select Remove. We suggest starting there. In some cases, removing the affected channel and then re-installing it may help. Restart your device before re-adding the channel back in to ensure the process is successful. We recommend doing this through the Settings menu by navigating to Settings > System > Power (If there is no Power submenu, proceed to the next step.) > System restart.
        • Check the network connection: Make sure that your Roku device is connected to a stable network connection. Go to the Settings menu, select Network, and then choose Check Connection to test the network connection.
        • Reset the Roku device: If the above steps do not resolve the issue, you may need to perform a factory reset on your Roku device. Go to the Settings menu, select System, and then choose Advanced System Settings. Select Factory Reset, and then follow the on-screen instructions to reset the device.

        If none of these steps work, you may need to contact Roku customer support for further assistance.
