Roku community site is unusable

pages don’t load on many devices no matter what browser one uses. Even the latest iOS devices and OS pages are very slow to load (if at all).  It’s been like that for years, how/why does that persist?!

      I am still seeing the occasional error "community doesn't exist" or something similar, when I click on a post or more.  It flashes quickly the error and then goes back to the post.  I am not sure private messages are working correctly either.

      The log in page also seems to have issues, sometimes rejecting the log in information, sometimes a log in page in Spanish (which happened a few days ago), and sometime just going back to a blank log in page when trying to log in.

  • Really!  What is going on with this site? I log in, then see a list of notifications, only to have them all disappear, never to be found again, just this:

    No Notifications

    Notifications on community activity you follow appear here

     

    What is going on????
    Oh, and when I click on "See More", to find items further down the discussion list, nothing happens, it goes nowhere.

      StevenCee​   I am seeing the same issues as well....notifications disappearing, show more not doing anything.

  • Strega2​   Most of my 10 to 15 posted replies from the last week never showed up on the site, even though I was getting notifications of other replies on the same post.  Finally, yesterday, I was able to post the reply you see above.    Not sure what is going on with site, it has been behaving strangely....maybe it is under some type of DOS attack or something.

  • If I visit a typical web site, I can't really even see it show up as any CPU load in Task Manager.  However, when I visit this site, I see it max out a CPU core for several seconds, and the fan becomes audible - usually it takes sustained video encoding to make a fan audible on this machine.  I think the forum is doing some sort of proof-of-work thing like Anubis, but they've dialed it up to 11.

    I do know that every website is getting hammered all the time now by AI/LLM scraper bots, so I understand some response.

      Same thing happened to one of my four cores, it was at 100%, but as I write this reply things seem much better today. All cores are in the 10% range which is where I would expect them to be. So, maybe the problem has been fixed.

  • I have seen similar problems as well....slow loading pages, 502 errors, show more on categories stuck and not showing additional posts, and disappearing posts.

    I haven't signed in here for many months now, but I had no issues with the old platform that was being used back then. It is painfully slow now and I keep getting Firefox pop-ups asking me to stop the page from loading.
