Roku channel will not play any shows

When I select the Roku channel to watch a show and hit play, the show doesn’t start but goes right back to where I started. Wanting me to hit play again.  Roku channel NOT working! I’ve restarted the Roku device, I’ve uninstalled and installed the Roku channel app. Nothing!

    Seems to be happening to a number of people.  It's been 2 months for me and they keep kicking out tickets as they investigate.  All 4 of my units are having the same issue.  Time that Roku fixes this issue for the growing number of subscribers.

      We are currently aware, and our engineering team has been investigating this issue closely. In the meantime, please help us with the required details regarding the issue you've encountered. Kindly provide the following information:

      • Roku device model, serial number, device ID, and software OS/version. (These can all be found in Settings > System > About).
      • What channel and what version/build is the channel that is having the issue? (This can be found by selecting the channel on the Home screen and pressing the * button).
      • Tracker ID when this issue occurs. (When you see this issue occur, press the Home button 5 times, followed by the Back button 5 times, and provide us with this ID).
      • A photo or video clip referring to the issue,

      Once we have this information, we will be able to pass it along to the appropriate Roku team to investigate further.

        Channel - Roku channel only - version 9.3 build 10

        Tracker ID - 67-038-833

         

        Process to repeat/what happens

        Open roku channel

        go to show/movie/etc

        Select either resume or play

        Screen goes black (like it's about to start playing) for 1s (at most)

        Then you're right back onto the about show/movie with the same play options

         

        All other channels/apps work fine without issue - just content on the Roku Channel that this occurs

        I've tried removing the channel and adding it back, removing it for several days, etc. All with no success. This has occurred for probably 2-3 months now

    Is everyone who's having this problem in Canada, and NOT hooked up to either a mobile phone tether, a VPN, something that doesn't say Rogers or Bell when the IP is communicating with the Roku servers?  It seems odd so many people are having this problem and Roku doesn't seem to be doing anything...

      It's just stupid.  I have a cousin that's not on here and he too is having the same issue.  Why it gives you the guide, preferences for you, channel banner and TV channel number but no live TV is beyond me.  They keep asking for the same **bleep** information and still nothing gets done.  How many months should this continue on?  If it's an issue with people using VPN's or are offshore, it's not their business.  It's between the FCC and the person downloading the programming.  There is no live sports on the Roku Channel, so the sports leagues won't care.  It's just incompetency at Roku.  What are they paying for in regards to tech support?

      I've tried 3 different ISP's and it's still the same.  I also set up a mobile hotspot......same problem.  I have a cousin on Explornet, he has the same issues.  No VPN's, nothing.  I also shut off my VPN's and nothing.  Sad commentary for this company.  Sure, they'll come on here and ask me to send them pick shots of my setup.  I've done it numerous times and tried everything that they've asked.  No more!  Fix it now and stop shuffling it onto the people who you should be supporting.

        Another week, another week with no Roku Channel fix.  When are they going to reformat their channel so this issue goes away forever?  What's the big deal?  It's free programming, unless you integrate a pay service into the Roku channel.  Roku has asked for information and I've submitted it numerous times.  I'm not sure what they want, but it's not working here.  I'm sure I'll get another automated response from this latest post, but you have to keep on them to fix the issue.  So here I am for another week.
