Roku Channel not syncing with closed captions!

Murdock mysteries on Roku Channel is syncing to some other series or storyline. We tried to watch it on a Roku TV and a TV with roku stick. 

I am hard of hearing and rely on CC. I'm also really addicted to this series. This phenomenon just happened in the last couple of days. 

I've followed the reset instructions given from this board, and nothing changes. It appears to only be happening with this series.

  • How can it be that I just started viewing season six episode 2 of Murdoch Mysteries and this problem has not been fixed.  It is 6/20/25.  Any update on when this might be fixed?  I, too, rely heavly on CC since I don't hear well.  Is it that difficult to fix?  I'll have to wait on any more episodes until this is corrected.  It just seems wrong that it takes this long to sync the CC to the correct program.  Can we get a timeframe as to when this will be fixed?

  • My family has been enjoying watching Murdoch Mysteries on the Roku Channel since Prime Video removed it from their library. Lately, the closed captions don't match the episode we are watching. Tonight we are watching S6 E9 "Victoria Cross" and we have the captioning for S6 E2 "Winston's Lost Night." This makes it challenging for those who depend on the assistance. Please ask your techs to look into this issue.

      The closed caption problem for Murdoch Mysteries season 6 has not been solved. The captions do not match the episode that is being watched. I have to have captions to understand the speech.

        Our Roku captions for Britbox and Acorn programs have also stopped working tonight, though seemingly fine for YouTube TV and streaming PBS

  • It is Feb. 1, 2025, and this issue is still present. C'mon ROKU!!! Just fix it, already.

    Today, just this very minute, I echo Dennis5 last October: "this still is not fixed on season 6. This is using Roku channel for Murdock with commercials. Unfortunately, the commercials cc work perfectly. This is only on Murdock, It is extra weird because it is not ahead or behind it is from an entirely different episode!!!!!"

    I am now watching S6,E7. The problem has been present on every episode so far of Season 6, including this one.

    PS: I'm now on S6, E9. The captions are from the previous Churchill episode.

        This is still an issue as of February 25th, 2025!

        Example: 
        Murdoch Mysteries: S15:E13 Murdoch on the Couch

        Captions start 30 seconds too early:
        - Captions can be seen starting at 52 seconds, during the intro sequence, but the people in the show do not speaking those lines until 1:22

        I believe the reason for the 30 second out of sync is due to additional video in the beginning:
        - 20 seconds of the "TEST" video (rainbow color vertical bars and test tone playing)
        - 10 seconds of a "Picture Shop" countdown
        Then the actual episode starts to play at the 30 second mark in the video player.
        Most likely the captions track has started when the video player starts, and not when the actual episode video starts.

      It is now July 11th 2025 and STILL NOT FIXED!??As with many other comments I also rely on closed captions. this is in reference to "Murdoch Mysteries" Season 6 closed captions are STILL showing from a previous episode!?

      THIS, is not a new issue! Other posts were made back in October, and the same standard response was given back then. 

      I'm not trying to be rude, but hearing loss is why people rely on CC. It seems that it isn't very important for Roku. :-<
