Roku Channel App Will Not Display Captions On Live TV
I am using a FireTV (Cube gen2 if needed) and I am not able to get Captions to appear while watching live TV on the Roku channel. Captions are on in my FireTV settings, and work fine in any other app, except Roku. I've had this same problem on my Google Chromecast+Google TV. So this clearly isn't a software problem, but something with the app.
It irritates me how the only settings for captions in the app are style, and not turning them on or off. I am hard of hearing and need these captions.

To enable closed captioning on your Roku device. Follow these steps:- Press Home on your Roku remote
- Scroll and select Settings
- To open the Captions menu, select Accessibility. If Accessibility is not listed, select Captions.
- Select Captions mode and choose when captions appear. Select On always.
