Puerto Rico FTA channels not loading some channels like Wapa

I’ve been using Puerto Rico FTA channels for awhile, but WAPA channel is not loading. I tried to restart, uninstall, reinstall and nothing. Please help.

  • Hey luism21 Aygonzalez

Thanks for reaching out to the Roku Community!

We understand that you're having issues with the WAPA channel not loading. Since you have attempted to troubleshoot the issue, make sure to restart the Roku device from Settings > System > System Restart before adding the channel back to ensure the effectiveness of the troubleshooting.

For detailed instructions, refer to this support link: How do I resolve channel playback issues.

If the issue persists, it's best to contact the channel provider directly to inquire further and to address the issue. Most channels are maintained and developed by the channel providers themselves.

    All the best,
    Kash

The problem persists.  Where can I find the channel provider information?  I downloaded the app through Roku, and the subscription is been paid through Roku as well.

        Hi VMC1,

A warm welcome here in the Roku Community!

We apologize for the inconvenience this has caused due to a playback issue with the channel. Do you receive an error message or code? Have you tried to remove the channel to see if it helps? You can remove and reinstall the affected channel if you haven't tried it yet.

Restart your device before adding the channel again to ensure the process is successful. We recommend doing this from the Settings menu by navigating to Settings > System > Power (If you do not see a Power submenu, skip to the next step). System restart.

For detailed instructions, refer to this Support link: How do I resolve channel playback issues?

        Best regards,

        Chel

I even tried to capture information during the opening of the app, Instant TV Channels, but when searching, it takes me back to Roku.

Please Roku, help to understand the issue, how can we contact the correct person so that we can address the issue.

The latest recommendation from Roku was to contact the provider directly.  However, there is no information in how to contact whoever the provider is.  Please help !

  • Wapa hasn't worked for a long time, it's time they did something because we pay for that service. fix it as soon as possible. I didn't think I had to write a negative review. but Wapa is the channel we watch the most! take action

I agree with the lack of support for having WAPA, WAPA Deportes, and Punto2 channel back in the PR FTA Channels.  I opted to unsubscribe until this issue is fixed.

We understand that we need to contact PR FTA Channels, the issue is how?  There is no contact information and when searching (Google), the hits takes us back to Roku.  We need the contact information which you should have as the provider of this service.  Correct?

  • I don’t understand why Roku admins allow people to create channels like Puerto Rico FTA and have 0 way to get in touch with the main creators or customer support. I cancelled my account with PR channels already, but still, some of us want to re join to continue watching. Something must be done. I don’t understand why’s so difficult

  • Why was the Puerto Rico FTA channel removed?

      Hi FAA,

Thanks for reaching us here in the Roku Community!

To add streaming channels to your Roku streaming player or Roku TV™, you can either visit the Roku Channel Store or enter the dedicated access code provided by the content provider into your Roku account. However, if you are unable to find the channel in the Roku Channel Store or the access code is no longer working, it could mean that the channel is no longer available on the Roku platform.

If you subscribed to or purchased content on a channel that is no longer available on your Roku device, you can contact the content provider for more information.

      Regards,

      Rey

I found a cached channel store page that says: PUERTO RICO FTA CHANNELS was developed by: PRCO

However, unlike most channels in the Roku channel store, there was no link to a website for PRCO.

PRCO is also the developer of Roku channels CHILE TELEVISIÓN, and TELEVISIÓN MÉXICO, which are still in the Roku channel store, but these pages also have no link to a PRCO website.  I suspect that this is intentional – that PRCO doesn’t want to be contacted.

This is just a guess, but I think Roku could have gotten a DMCA takedown for PUERTO RICO FTA CHANNELS, tried to contact PRCO, found them to be unresponsive (or unfindable) and removed the content as demanded.  Then again, PRCO could be a legit company that simply lost its contract with the Puerto Rico channels or simply wasn’t making enough money on this to continue.
