Prime Video Menu browsing has nasty lag

Simply browsing the shows now introduces a 1-2 second blanking screen as I try selecting different shows.  Its not the auto-resolution thing (tried that already).  This is a new problem as of about a week ago or so (~8/3/24).  Any ideas?  I'm using the low-end Streaming Stick.

  • Hi, IdiotBastard

Thanks for posting here in the Roku Community.

We understand the issue you have experienced with Prime Video on your Roku device, and we'd be glad to assist in resolving this issue. Let's perform a troubleshooting step to see if we can achieve any difference. Kindly follow the steps below:

    1. Navigate to the channel tile on the Roku home screen, press the star (*) key on your remote, and choose "Remove channel".
    2. Next, restart your device from Settings > System > Power > System Restart (If you do not see a Power submenu, skip to the next step).
    3. Once your player/TV starts up again, go to "Streaming Store" on the Home screen, and add the channel back once more.
    4. You may also refer to this link: How to resolve a channel playback issue | Official Roku Support
If the issue persists after performing the provided troubleshooting step, you may want to contact the channel provider's support directly and inquire further about this issue. They can provide a workaround or there might be a need to update their app on the Roku platform since most channels on the Roku platform are designed and maintained by the channel providers themselves.

    Hope this helps.

    Best wishes,
    Kash

Thanks RokuTakashi.  I applied all your suggestions and it seemed to work for a bit, but things went right back to blanking between title browsing on every new selection.  This has been going on now for a month and I have been waiting for things to get fixed, but it seems like maybe its just me... IS ANYBODY ELSE HAVING THIS PROBLEM?  Please speak up if so.  I honestly don't know what to do besides just not use Prime Video.  BTW: Netflix works fine!!!  Thanks.

        Hi, IdiotBastard.

Thanks for keeping us in the loop.

In this case, the troubleshooting steps provided by RokuTakashi above are just a workaround. If the issue persists after doing so, most probably the issue is within the channel itself.

Since this is an isolated case involving the Prime Video app exclusively, we strongly advise that you contact their Support team for further assistance and clarification.

Please be advised that the majority of content on the Roku platform comes from streaming channels maintained and updated independently by the channel's provider.

You may reach them here: Prime Video Support

We hope it will get sorted out soon and appreciate you bearing with us in the meantime.

        Best regards,
        Carly
