Premiere overheating constantly

I’ve seen multiple posts on this. My premiere constantly puts a message on screen saying the device is overheating. The device is out in the open, all suggestions for this issue do not fix the problem. Seems to be a common known issue. Is Roku doing anything to replace these? My unit is only about a month old. I did not purchase it through “Roku.com”.
Thanks for any help/info.

    Hi fmcenneny,

Thanks for reaching us here in the Roku Community!

We understand you have encountered an error message saying your device is overheating. We want to take a closer look at this. Can you please provide us with more specific information about the issue you are experiencing?

    • What device are you using right now? (e.g., Roku Express, Roku Streambar, Roku TV)
    • Does the issue only occur on a specific channel or all channels on your Roku device?
    • What have you done so far to reproduce the issue?

By providing additional details, we will be better equipped to provide further assistance.

    All the best,

    Chel

      Thanks for the response.

The overheating message was happening while using the MAX Channel. It may have happened using Hulu channel, but I would have to retry to monitor that.
I unplugged power, let it cool, and tried again. The device is not in a cabinet, or behind tv, etc. It is in an open space. It continues to display the overheating message when in use.
live disconnected it and will no longer use it.

        Hi fmcenneny,

        Thanks for keeping us posted.

Kindly be informed that the release date of the Roku Premiere was way back the year of 2016. Channel providers have developed their channels on the Roku platform with more updated features for a better streaming experience that older Roku streaming devices might not handle. The newer Roku streaming devices are more updated and best fit for today's streaming experience.

        Wishing you the best,
        Kash
