Pluto TV keeps recycling to home screen after App update.

Pluto updated app, and now it cycle back to the home screen.

I have uninstalled and reinstalled several times, factory reset the TV.

App doesn't work on all my Roku TVs.

    Didn't work.   I got Pluto ok until I installed a new Express type roku device --- i9t replaced a Roku 3.  Any other suggestions?

    Mine does the same.  worked on a Roku 3 but then I replaced it with an Express.  Have checked for updates --- that's fine.   Have deleted Pluto channel, restarted roku, and reinstalled Pluto but it did not solve the problem,.

      • Roku device model, serial number, device ID, and OS version. (this can all be found in Settings > System > About)
      • Tracker ID (when you see this issue occur, press the Home button 5 times, followed by the Back button 5 times, and provide us with this ID)
      • Channel build version

        Kash ... this is a lot of personal/sensitive/compromising information to post in a public forum.  Do you have  a secure place to send the device information you have requested?

  • I'm having the same issue, when I go to open the Pluto app it acts like it's trying to open, but within 5 seconds it goes right back to the Roku home screen. I just did what you recommended to Hrlybtch , but it didn't help me, it's still doing the same thing. Is there any other suggestions? 

    P. S. The Pluto app on my phone is loading and working fine like it should, which leads me to think this is probably a Roku issue!! Please Help! 

  • Exactly the same with me! Pluto loads and works fine on my phone, so it's obviously on Roku's end where the issue is.

  • I actually dug out my old physical Roku box and attached it to my newest Roku TV, and Pluto worked fine. A couple of minutes later, Pluto upgraded to the current release 5.3.7 build 7, and it still worked. My physical Roku box is on version 13.1.4 build 1510-04. Both of my Roku TVs are on version 13.1.4 build 1510-88. So it looks like build 1510-88 doesn’t play well with Pluto 5.3.7 build 7, but build 1510-04 is fine. I’m currently just plugging in my physical Roku box to watch Pluto for a time, then unplugging to (hopefully?) prevent it from being upgraded to 1510-88. Hope this helps troubleshooting. This is getting frustrating to this community. 

  • I removed Pluto 5x and addednit then removed it before I did the 5x system restart...its finally working on all my 2024 Roku Onn Tv devices.

  • I literally just bought and connected my Roku Express 4K+ and I’m unable to get Pluto which is my favorite. I reset a few times, it looks like it’s going to come in and then it immediately goes back to the Home Screen.

      Yay! It works now. I removed the channel and add it back and it’s working. Thank you for resolving the issue. This is my favorite!

        Agreed. Working again.  I had to do a software and channel update, then it worked. Glad this got fixed - but still no communications from Roku.

      Well... I just purchased a new ROKU TV. Got it home, installed it and it updated all the channels. Now Pluto just crashes out to the home screen. Initial splash screen, "secondary" splash screen, black screen then crashes out to the home screen.  What sucks, it triggered all my other devices to update, which caused Pluto to stop working on them now too. So, on TV's with built in Roko, and those with stand alone Roku streamers.. none of them work. Roll back to the previous version.

      Uninstalling, restarting, reinstalling did not help. Thats what brought me here to see what else to try.

      FYI: I have the Roku 4230X SW Ver. 13.1.4 build 1510-04. Frustrated with YouTube issues on my device, I decided to try Factory resetting it. Afterwards I reloaded the channels, including Pluto. It appears to be ver. 5.37 build 7. Attempting to open the Pluto app is doing exactly what others have stated; logo, then back to home screen

        We need real answers from Roku's Corporate Office. They must know what is happening. Yet, no one answers.

  • Just purchased Roku Ultra. Everything ok except Pluto Tv app not working. The app starts to load but then just goes back to the Roku Home screen. I have deleted the app, restarted Roku, and reinstalled the Pluto App but same results. I have 4 other Roku’s in the house (NOT the Ultra model) and the Pluto app works fine on those. Any ideas? TIA !

  • When connected hardwire it works but shuts off at random times between 1 minute and 2 hours - and everything in between.

    Will not let me enter wifi login password - it shuts off before i can enter the password.

    I have tried every fix found on community pages and internet.
