Paramount Plus Roku error 'content unavailable'

I had to uninstall the Sling app and reinstall it a couple weeks ago because it wouldn't load. Sling helped with it and said Roku did a big update and now requires more space. So, I had to delete a lot of channels.

Now the Paramount channel I pay for keeps buffering and won't load. It says 'content is not available try again later' and there is no technical support for Paramount or Roku. If I continue to have all these issues I will look at other options. You deleted my purchase history as well! Very poor service. And you are not showing who you are taking $35 for.......You really need to fix these issues.

You are becoming like straight talk. Take the money but offer no customer service or technical support, just a place for all your unhappy paying customers to vent with no resolution. Not a good way to do "business".

    Thanks for the post.

If the issue remains unresolved, I'd recommend reaching out to Paramount+ directly to report the issue and request additional support. Many channels on the Roku platform are developed and maintained by the channel provider directly, and they'll be able to best assist. If other channels are working correctly, and you only experience this issue on the Paramount+ channel (app), that is likely an indication that the issue lies within that particular channel. In these cases, the channel provider will need to investigate the issue in order to help resolve it.

You can reach them here: https://help.paramountplus.com/s/contact-us

    Thanks,
    Danny

  • After two weeks of no help from either roku or paramount I stumbled onto a fix but you need to download prime video , go to either search or your channels on prime video and there’s paramount plus , no hiccups whatsoever. I did upgrade to the premium package before I found this so that “might” be a requirement.

It is a on going problem. I never had any Roku issues until I installed Paramount+. This is only a Roku/Paramount+ problem. I had success with Temporarily resetting Roku. settings>System>Restart. However still too many Roku resets. It was looking like a possible memory issue, so I deleted 6 unused channels from the main menu. Not getting stuck at 6sec. on commercials as often now. It’s temporarily usable.

        Ok

all the stuff I tried isn’t good enough. I switched to the paramount plus app on my Android TV. Sound issues, but at least it’s watchable.
Roku and Paramount Plus don’t play nice together.

  • I found a fix to get mine working again. Check that your modem & router does not have built in ad-blocker. Mine does it recently was added as a beta feature and if you turn it off. Then it will work. Paramount requires you to not have ad-blockers to watch their content.

Can you please explain how you check for an ad blocker? I literally just got this channel today this morning watched 2 episodes of 1883. I have tried all the other things nothing has worked. Thank you.

It would be in your modem settings. If your unfamiliar with those settings i recommend contacting your isp provider to have them check for you.

  • I’m having the same issue!! This needs to be fixed. Ridiculous that I’m paying for a service that I’m not getting.

  • this happens on both of my TCL/Roku TV's but not on my Frestick/Prime TV's.... it is a Roku issue.

    please advise....

Happens to me frequently, especially when watching during prime time. Live TV freezes, sometimes recovers, other times doesn't. For me this began right after the washed out colors fix that was rolled out a few weeks ago. Tonight it especially bad, happens every couple of minutes.

I assume that sooner or later either Roku or P+ will break down and fix this latest bug (and probably break something else in the process since apparently neither company's development apparatus is familiar with the concept of regression testing. Make that REGRESSION TESTING, dummies). In the meantime everyone should feel free to contact both companies and blather on, maybe even threaten to hold their breath - but it will get fixed when they're good and ready and not one millisecond sooner. In other words, neither Roku nor Paramount give a flying f**k about customer satisfaction.

Ah for the good old days when all I had to worry about is which rabbit ear to wiggle in order to watch Howdy Doody!

Start emailing the ad buyers for Paramount+ and let them know we don't see the ads because it stops.  That may do something.

  • I had a similar issue on my Roku recently — super frustrating! While I was troubleshooting, I ended up browsing for some home upgrade ideas. Sometimes it's good to take a break and come back fresh.
