Paramount Plus App will not load

When I try to open the Paramount plus app, it closes and takes me back to the home page. I cleared the cache and restarted my router and tv.

    Greetings from the Roku Community!

    We are currently looking into this issue and suggest you try to update the Roku device by following the steps below:

    1. Press Home on your Roku remote
    2. Scroll and select settings 
    3. Select System
    4. Select Software update
    5. Select Check Now to manually check for updates

    For more help, please visit our Roku support website: How to update the software on the Roku streaming device. After checking the update, please provide us with the latest OS build version and model of the Roku device you're having an issue with.

    My Rokus have been doing the same thing for a week.  First it was CW back in May and I still can not open it on any of my Roku tvs.  Now paramount won’t open.  I am getting really frustrated that I have to watch it on a tablet in front of my tv on my couch.  I have checked for updates.  Deleted the app and signed back in.  It doesn’t matter neither will open.

      I understand your concern about Paramount Plus not loading. Have you checked if you have an ad blocker enabled on your router? If you're unsure, please contact your internet service provider to verify this setting.

      If the ad blocker is not enabled and you still have issues with Paramount Plus, please let us know so we can investigate.

    Ad blocker on eero, or home network is stopping from loading. Yes you have to turn off ad blocker for your WHOLE network just for this.....had to go to eero app on phone ( amazon now owns it) turn off . eero home screen scroll down to security . select then turn off ad block........UGG so much for my id protection software guarding me from phishing ect. thanks paramount....

      Thanks for providing this!  I hadn't been in a while and the paramount update from 070925 seems to have introduced this issue.  What I've found :
      1)  turn off ad blocker on eero, then go into the paramount+ app

      2) get past (watch) the initial ad that pops up before a particular show you want to watch, you only have to do this once.

      3) you can then turn on ad blocker on eero without impacting paramount+ and can exit the app and re-enter without getting the spinner of death.

      Like you I like/rely on eero's ad block feature for my other devices on the network, so not having it on full time was not a viable option.  Hope this helps.

        can't wait to try this. My id protection script ir mad i turned it off. worried i will forfeit my 1mil insurance if its my fault for opting out on ad block etc.

    I contacted support on Sunday about this and checked for an update today that fixed this. Downloaded the update, wasn't playing videos yet so I restarted the TV and it seems to be working well now

        My Paramount+ app updated to 9.7 build 20250320 and the issue with crashing back to the home screen appears to be resolved.

    Tried the restart thing but no change.

    I had the same problem. All mother streaming channels are working fine. This happened on Monday. I tries every day to sign on with luck

    I have the exact same problem. It happened about a month ago too and then all of sudden worked. Now over last week not working again. Open the app, the paramount plus screen comes on and then goes back to Roku Home Screen

      • Roku device model, serial number, device ID, and OS version and build. (this can all be found in Settings > System > About)
      • Tracker ID (press the Home button 5 times, followed by the Back button 5 times
      • Channel build version (highlight the channel and press the star (*) button of your Roku remote)

    I am having the same issue and am pi**ed. Please make sure you test apps before updating. If this is not resolved asap. I will confirm my investigation on this to the FCC and FTC bureau's. The allegations is making people use paramount+ service from roku instead of using the standalone app that has bundle with cable providers or others.

    I have spent over 30 minutes trying to figure out how to make a first post. What a bad service.

    I think if you need an update you should be notified that some apps may not work until you do a manual update of show an option to do update when the update downloads. This is bad business.

    When i open Paramount Plus it loads for a moment as if it’s going to fully open the app, but then goes back to the Roku home screen.

    My connection is fine, other apps work perfectly.

    I even deleted and reinstalled Paramount Plus and it is still not working

      Give this a try: Remove and Reinstall the app. Often, that can clear up the problem. Restarting your Roku device before adding the app back can also help make sure everything goes smoothly.

        It didn’t work for me. I deleted the app and redownloaded and it still won’t open. All of my other apps will open.

    For over a week now the Paramount+ App has not worked on my Roku TV (less than a year old). I have uninstalled, reinstalled, turned TV on, rebooted internet.  Nothing works.  I do this every evening hoping for some magic  It goes to the blue Paramount screen for a moment, then right back to home screen.

      My Paramount + is no longer opening on my TCL Roku tv. When I click on the app it looks as if it will open but only goes back to the app and never opens. I've checked for updates on the app and TV and all is updated. What can I do? Thanks!

        Have you also tried doing these steps below?

        1. Remove the channel: Highlight the channel tile on your home screen and press Star to open the Options menu. Select Remove channel and confirm.
        2. Restart your Roku device: Go to Settings > System > Power > System restart > Restart Now.
        3. Re-install the channel: After your Roku device restarts, visit the Roku Streaming Store and add the channel again.

        If that doesn't help, no worries; just send your device details here, and we'll look into it!

        • Roku device model, serial number, device ID, and Software Version. (these can all be found in Settings > System > About)
        • Tracker ID (Press the Home button five times, followed by the Back button five times)
        • App build version (Highlight the app from the Home Screen and press the Star * Button)

      1McMc, just to make sure, do the steps in this order:

      1. Uninstall the app
      2. Perform a System restart found under Settings->System->Power
      3. Reinstall the app

      Simply turning the TV off and on doesn't really accomplish anything.

    I am also having same problem.  I only have Paramount thru the Roku TV.  In the middle of watching a show last night, the screen went black.  I can access my other subscriptions, no problem.  Just now I tried Paramount again, all I get is the circling swirl.  I have a week left on my free trial.  Should I just cancel now, or wait and see if theirs some glitch on their end.  Sounds like there is.

      Thank you for letting us know that the Paramount+ app won't open. Let’s see what we can do to fix it!
       
      • Select the app and press the * button on your remote. Then, choose the option to update the channel.
      • If that doesn't work, check for a system update: Home > Settings > System > Software Update > Check Now.
      • You might need to re-install the app from the Channel Store after updating your system.
      • Restarting your device might sometimes help: Home > Settings > System > Power/System Restart.

        You can’t uninstall the app on a Roku TV. I wish the tech support would realize this and offer an update or a patch of some sort. The more research I’m doing I see I am not the only one and I tried every suggestion that tech support has given both at Roku and Paramount +
