Paramount Plus App will not load

When I try to open the Paramount plus app, it closes and takes me back to the home page. I cleared the cache and restarted my router and tv.

    Thank you for letting us know that the Paramount+ app won't open. Let’s see what we can do to fix it!
     
    • Select the app and press the * button on your remote. Then, choose the option to update the channel.
    • If that doesn't work, check for a system update: Home > Settings > System > Software Update > Check Now.
    • You might need to re-install the app from the Channel Store after updating your system.
    • Restarting your device might sometimes help: Home > Settings > System > Power/System Restart.

    1. Press Home on your Roku remote
    2. Scroll and select settings 
    3. Select System
    4. Select Software update
    5. Select Check Now to manually check for updates

    I am having the same issue and am pi**ed. Please make sure you test apps before updating. If this is not resolved asap. I will confirm my investigation on this to the FCC and FTC bureau's. The allegations is making people use paramount+ service from roku instead of using the standalone app that has bundle with cable providers or others.

    I have spent over 30 minutes trying to figure out how to make a first post. What a bad service.

    I think if you need an update you should be notified that some apps may not work until you do a manual update of show an option to do update when the update downloads. This is bad business.

     

  • For over a week now the Paramount+ App has not worked on my Roku TV (less than a year old). I have uninstalled, reinstalled, turned TV on, rebooted internet.  Nothing works.  I do this every evening hoping for some magic  It goes to the blue Paramount screen for a moment, then right back to home screen.

      1McMc, just to make sure, do the steps in this order:

      1. Uninstall the app
      2. Perform a System restart found under Settings->System->Power
      3. Reinstall the app

      Simply turning the TV off and on doesn't really accomplish anything.

      My Paramount + is no longer opening on my TCL Roku tv. When I click on the app it looks as if it will open but only goes back to the app and never opens. I've checked for updates on the app and TV and all is updated. What can I do? Thanks!

        Have you also tried doing these steps below?

        1. Remove the channel: Highlight the channel tile on your home screen and press Star to open the Options menu. Select Remove channel and confirm.
        2. Restart your Roku device: Go to Settings > System > Power > System restart > Restart Now.
        3. Re-install the channel: After your Roku device restarts, visit the Roku Streaming Store and add the channel again.

        If that doesn't help, no worries; just send your device details here, and we'll look into it!

        • Roku device model, serial number, device ID, and Software Version. (these can all be found in Settings > System > About)
        • Tracker ID (Press the Home button five times, followed by the Back button five times)
        • App build version (Highlight the app from the Home Screen and press the Star * Button)

  • I was watching a show inside my house and decided to continue watching in my office while i worked, I click on the paramount icon, it opens for a moment before it goes black and goes back to my home scrParamount plus, onn tv, closing, roku tveen. i was watching it fine on paramount 20 yards away on my Samsung tv but as soon as i got to the office paramount wont work. My internet in fine as i am writing this and able to watch other shows on other networks. Ive uninstalled and reinstalled the app at the device, reset the network and reconnected and got nothing. It will let me open the paramount by roku if i commit to a 7day trial but i am not going to commit to something i already pay for. Is this the streamers way of once again leaving us no choice on what services to use? Are they wanting us to commit to one service because if that's the case, I will smash this Roku TV and buy a different one. I only purchased this one out of convenience. I refuse to be told which services i can use on which televisions and be steered into buying a particular brand for the sake of exclusivity. I own the rights to those products, i paid for the gas to retrieve it, the taxes required when i made the purchase, i pay for the electricity that powers it, and the internet that it uses.  

    Can anyone help me figure out what is going on with the app on the TV and why i cannot use it. Everything else is working fine, the connection is solid and i can watch paramount on ALL the other TV's in my house, except the Roku tv.  

  • I am also having same problem.  I only have Paramount thru the Roku TV.  In the middle of watching a show last night, the screen went black.  I can access my other subscriptions, no problem.  Just now I tried Paramount again, all I get is the circling swirl.  I have a week left on my free trial.  Should I just cancel now, or wait and see if theirs some glitch on their end.  Sounds like there is.

        I am having the same problem now for about a week.  I have tried updating the Paramount+ app and have also removed the app and reinstalled it as per the instructions listed here on Roku Community and all I get when I hit the Paramount+ app is a black screen for about 2 secs and then it goes back to the home screen.  All the other apps work just fine.  Please help

  • When i open Paramount Plus it loads for a moment as if it’s going to fully open the app, but then goes back to the Roku home screen.

    My connection is fine, other apps work perfectly.

    I even deleted and reinstalled Paramount Plus and it is still not working

      Give this a tryRemove and Reinstall the app. Often, that can clear up the problem. Restarting your Roku device before adding the app back can also help make sure everything goes smoothly.

        It didn’t work for me. I deleted the app and redownloaded and it still won’t open. All of my other apps will open. 

  • I have the exact same problem. It happened about a month ago too and then all of sudden worked. Now over last week not working again. Open the app, the paramount plus screen comes on and then goes back to Roku Home Screen

  • I had the same problem. All mother streaming channels are working fine. This happened on Monday. I tries every day to sign on with luck

  • Tried the restart thing but no change.

  • I contacted support on Sunday about this and checked for an update today that fixed this. Downloaded the update, wasn't playing videos yet so I restarted the TV and it seems to be working well now

        My Paramount+ app updated to 9.7 build 20250320 and the issue with crashing back to the home screen appears to be resolved.
