    Hi RBedard,

    Greetings from the Roku Community!

We're glad to assist you with your problem with streaming Roku. We'd like to know more about it so we can further assist you. Please provide the details below:

    • What Roku device are you using right now? (e.g., Roku Express, Roku Streambar, Roku TV—specify TV)
    • Do you have any other devices connected to your TV? (e.g., speakers and other sound systems)
    • Is this happening on all contents or channels, or is this isolated to one content or channel?
    • Can you please check the volume level and mute settings on your TV using your remote?
    • Are you getting any error messages or error codes while playing content?

In the meantime, please try to check out this support article on what to do if you do not hear sound from your Roku streaming player.

We'll be waiting for your response.

    Kind regards,

    Eunice

I'm in the same boat.  Last night the sound stopped working, on all channels.  Tv sound is still fine though.  I've unplugged and replugged, power cycled, changed the digital output to stereo, and even put an entirely different Roku on the TV.  Nothing.  But when the Roku is powering up I get the bouncy sounds as Roku bounces.  What's happening?

Thanks for letting us know, Pennyworth.

Can you specify what Roku device this is? Also, we have verified multiple devices on your account. Does the issue occur on all devices? Along with the Roku player, are there any external devices attached to the TV?

Please keep us updated so we can continue assisting.

        Regards,
        Janadee

  • I had same issue with Roku external device.  Tried everything.  Finally a power reset solved the problem.
