No remote found in the garge tried looking but no luck

Do you know the SSID and passphrase of the last network that the Roku was connected to?  If so, you can set up a network that matches that (exactly) and the Roku will (re)connect automatically.

If not, then you’re going to want a remote for it.  If it’s not a stick model, then you have many remote choices both from Roku and third parties.  For sticks, you need a Wi-Fi remote such as the Roku Voice Remote.  Do check your model number for compatibility because there were a few old oddball Rokus that require specific remotes.  Hopefully the Roku is still linked to your account, so you can find the model number there (at roku.com).
