No DVR for Roku channels at all why not

Love Roku, we have three in house. Love they have so many channels provided in Roku channel. But honestly, without ability to save, or DVR things you want to watch, well all the shows are useless without it. Would pay for this, so why is no DVR offered thru roku.

This is kinda strange. All the good content but no way to save it makes Roku useless.

Hope they can fix this or I am missing something.

Help appreciated.

  • Hi dlbott,

    Thanks for the post!

We understand that you want to access DVR. No worries, Roku has been made for our customers to be more comfy. Roku has a Cloud DVR (Digital Video Recorder) that allows you to schedule the recording of a program airing on a streaming channel and play the content back at a later time convenient to you.

Refer to our support page for more information: How to record movies and TV shows using a cloud DVR.

    Thanks,

  • Roku needs to make a hardware DVR that integrates flawlessly with their TV's.

When they do, I will buy one.

  • Roku is a STREAMING player. It has no recording ability. Copyright laws mean any cloud recordings must be treated separately, which requires huge amounts of server space. You will NEVER see that in a free service.

Just to be clear, this is a feature of some SUBSCRIPTION services, and not native to Roku.
