Netflix randomly pauses on my Roku device

I'll be trying to watch a show on Netflix and after about 10 seconds it just pauses.  And it won't stop.  Just keeps randomly pausing the entire time. All my other apps are good to go.  Just the one with Netflix

If restarting the device doesn't work, go to the home screen, highlight Netflix and press * for options and reset the app. Worked for me!

    Hey Runningbear31

Thanks for reaching out here in the Community.

In some cases, removing the affected channel and then reinstalling it may help. To ensure the process is successful, make sure to restart your device before adding the channel back in. We would recommend doing this from the Settings menu by navigating to Settings > System > Power (If you do not see a Power submenu, skip to the next step.) > System restart.

For detailed instructions, refer to this Support link: How do I resolve channel playback issues?

Let us know how it goes!

    All the best,
    Kariza

I'm having the same issue only with the Netflix app. I have tried:

      • System restart
      • Power cycle (unplug and plug back in)
      • Uninstall netflix app, system restart, install netflix app.
      • Change video from 1080p to 720p
      • Change audio settings from Auto to Dolby and Stereo
      • Switching from wired to wireless
      • Switching wireless network providers (Comcast / T-Mobile)
      • Clear cache (home home home home home up rew rew ff ff)

      What to do?

One last thing I tried which seems to have worked:

I unplugged the Roku from both HDMI and power for 5 minutes and powered back on.  When I checked Netflix again, it was still pausing.  I then turned off subtitles and audio leveling, and the pause problem seems to have stopped.  (It is working fine now no matter what the subtitle and audio leveling settings are).
