NESN 360 Won't Load Beyond Landing Page

Well, the $29.99 goes to Roku, so I was thinking there is some kind of link between Roku and NESN, and I thought maybe you may have heard this issue from more than just me. I guess not.

I found in the NESN FAQs a note that said the email address should be the same. So I changed my email address in Roku to match the one I have on NESN. But recently, a "Real person" as opposed to the fake BOTs that seem to be all the rage these days at NESN says "that might be causing this". So I may just set it back to what it was.

But what is clear is that this new software at NESN can not find my $29.99 in order to open access to their content. There must be something somewhere that makes a check to confirm that I am paying for NESN, and that is the subscription I have through Roku.

But thank you for replying, the Roku bots and advisers seem to be on a time limit of some sort, and I kept getting disconnected.

  • Now I am being told by NESN 360 tech to delete and reinstall the NESN 360 app  on Roku home. I tried to do this by going to the app on Roku and then using my Roku remote I cllick the star button, and there is a list of things I can do, but no remove button. See attached. 

    How can I do this?

      You can remove it using the mobile app.  Keep in mind that removing an app doesn't cancel any subscription.  Once you remove it, make sure you perform a System restart from Settings->System or Settings->System->Power (as appropriate) before you install it again.

      Whether it fixes your problem is anyone's guess, but if it doesn't, I strongly suggest you cancel your subscription through Roku and sign up directly with NESN.  Anytime a third partly like Roku, Amazon, Apple, etc. is involved it just complicates things with no real benefit.

        Yeah, that was what I started with. Also I still have that subscription until 7/27 3 days from now. Unless I start it up again.

        Now I'm wondering if I should delete my Roku if that is possible, and then resign up and start again.  I see I can delete my account, and if I did that could I rejoin?

      Thanks for the information provided. Since you have an active subscription, that’s why there is no option to remove the app. In the meantime, we'd like to take a closer look at this issue. Please let us know the following.

      • Is this the only app you're having an issue with?
      • Could you tell us what happened when you accessed the content, or do you see any error message?
      • Can you provide us with a video demonstrating the issue?

    I really appreciate real folks Roku reps, or users like I am that just have some expertise in some of this technology. The background of this, to go a few years back, My Roku Ultra is my 2nd Roku device, so we've been using Roku for a number of years with a Samsung TV. In 2024 we used the Roku Subscription method to the NESN app and it worked fine. At the time my email for the account, was mailto:steveleblanc@comcast.net, it is that now, but trying to get this running, I changed it for a while to the same email as my NESN 360 account, mailto:steveleblanc1215@gmail.com. I did that based on some data in a FAQ on NESN. But it different make any difference. But the whole delete and reinstall the App thing that NESN is asking for is from other NESN users telling NESN that fixed their access. 

    Anyway here is a video. I'm a total amateur with that, so I hope if comes through okay.

    Same w/ Fire TV on Echo Show 15 - emailed NESN support, they asked me if I could watch it on another device 😡

  • So here is where I'm at with this today. To go back a bit,  all of this problem was caused when NESN did an "upgrade" over the weekend of the All-Star break. That was 2 full weeks ago. My Roku account and my NESN 360 (which at the time ws a direct payment monthly to NESN) but we watched the Red-Sox games with our Samsung TV and a Roku Ultra Roku device. NO PROBLEMS AT ALL.

    I got no forewarning that there would be an upgrade over the All-Star break.  We actually watched the All-Star game and saw that fine. BUT after the game and into the following days,and still going on I STILL can not watch NESN 360 on our Television/Roku.

    However I did change over at one point to closing my money Direct Payment ot NESN and we went back  to what we did in 2024 which was used Roku's Managed Subscription service. That didn't make a difference either. Now I am being told that I have to Remove and Reinstall the NESN App. BUT, I can not do that until I stop my Roku Managed Supscription until August 21st.  (that is when the months bill would be started but I have canceled it here and just going back to direct to NESN.)

    So  I am dead in the water till then. I appreciate the Roku Community, but the Roku Support group is literally a AI App and a bad one at that. Roku has been no help at all. Apparently I'm the only person that is having this problem? I may go out and get another Smart TV but I still have to deal with NESN as I am not going to pay the high in the sky prices Xfinity will make us pay.

    Oh well, I guess this is a Cadillac problem and should just live with it. I doubt the guess that the NESN people are putting out there, Remove and Reinstall the NESN 360 App will fix it either.

  • Steve, I haven’t been able to watch Nesn with my subscription through Roku since they upgraded either. I have been talking to the Nesn support team who have no record of my subscription so they can’t help me. Today I decided to write to roku support and told the robot to connect me to a human. I asked for a cancellation and a refund so I could remove the app and subscribe directly through Nesn. After asking a number of times they finally agreed. Hopefully this will solve the problem

      Please let me know if this works. I tried too and they just ignored me. I canceled my "managed subscription" through Roku, but it won't run out till August 21st. NESN told me I had to delete my subscription on Roku, then delete the NESN app and the RE-install the App.  They said "maybe that will fix it". 

      Now on top of that, Roku does a update EVERY DAY, so you would think that there should be no need to do this delete/install but I'm getting now where until I do this. I'll try  again. 

      PLEASE LET ME KNOW HOW IT WORKS OUT FOR YOU.
