MSG + Streaming app available for ROKU

Is there any plans to offer an MSG + app?

Other steaming services have already made it available.

    Hi Roku Community users,

We understand that you are inquiring about accessing the MSG+ channel on Roku.

As of 11/20/24, it appears that the MSG+ channel is no longer available in the Roku Channel Store.

When a channel is no longer accessible, it typically means it has been removed from the Roku platform, sometimes at the request of the content provider. While this may be disappointing news, we encourage you to explore the many other options available.

Roku's Channel Store features a wide selection of content across various genres, so here are a few suggestions for discovering new channels:

    • Featured Channels: Check out the selection of featured channels on the Roku Channel Store homepage.
    • Recommended Channels: Explore channels based on your viewing habits and preferences.
    • Free Movies & TV: Discover popular free channels available on Roku.
    • Browse by Categories: Dive into categories like Music & Podcast, Food & Home, News & Weather, and more to find channels that suit your interests.

We hope this helps, and if you need further assistance or have additional questions, feel free to reach out!

    Happy Streaming! đź’ś

    Thanks,
    The Roku Community Team

You should contact MSG GO and ask them to create a Roku channel.  For the most part it isn't about Roku adding a particular channel; it's about the provider creating a channel/app for the Roku platform.

I recently received a message from MSG.they say that msg is currently not available and they are working on providing it in the future. As for trying to enter msgplus.tv on a app search, forget it.The search option only has letters and numbers,no punctuation of special characters.I'm sure Roku can fix this with a software upgrade. For now I'll watch my Sabres games on my computer.

  • Really hoping you guys add MSG+ app to the app list soon. It is a fairly new app so I imagine it takes a little time. But NHL an NBA season has already started. Thanks for your time!!

    PS. Please add MSG+

      Hi JohnR9139,

      We sincerely appreciate your interest.

Please be aware that for channel requests, you'll want to reach out to the provider directly and inquire or request to make their channel available for streaming on the Roku platform.

If you need further clarification or have inquiries, please let us know.

      Regards,
      Janadee

Roku doesn't develop channels for 3rd party providers. MSG would need to develop and offer a channel themselves. You need to tell MSG they need to offer a Roku channel.

The MSG+ site says:  “MSG+ is currently available for use on iOS v15 and above (iPhone/iPad), Android v9 and above (phone/tablet), desktop web, Chromecast and Airplay.  …  We are always working to make MSG+ available on additional devices, so please check back for updates!”

      Their contact page is here:

I’m sure it couldn’t hurt to ask for a Roku app.

By the way, it’s also available via DirecTV Stream which is available on Roku.
