MAX on my Roku is doing the same thing. This is the only app that causes issues on my Roku. I can’t watch a program because the picture constantly freezes, but the sound keeps going. It is infuriating.
We’re having the same issue. How do we fix this problem that just appeared four days ago after working perfectly fine?
Last few days can not watch Max on 4k Roku stick, too much buffering. Tried uninstalling etc and reinstalling etc. but same problem. Prefer using the Roku instead of using the Roku for Netflix, Hulu and Prime and having to use the TV remote just for Max. Like the shows we watch on Max but about to just say the heck with Max. Roku and Max need to fix the bugs.

Roku Community Team.Those steps are for removing a subscription not a channel, but regardless I've tried all the typical troubleshooting steps (remove/add channel, reboot, system/app updates, etc). It seems like we just need to wait for Max to update its app.
I'm having this exact same issue.
I updated the app, and it is working better. Open your Roku home page and go to the MAX app, but DO NOT open it. Press and hold the * button on your Roku remote and it will bring up an option menu for the app. Select update app. This worked for me.
I just updated the app and restarted the Roku box. Still experiencing the same issue; if anything it's even worse.
Not sure, It helped mine. I still think it’s the MAX app itself, as none of the other apps on my Roku have this issue. Hopefully they figure it out soon, as they’re going to lose subscribers. Good luck.
