Interactive Ads while watching Broadchurch on the Roku Channel

When did Roku start including advertising on the shows they present?  I am watching Broadchurch through the Roku channel December 2024 and the first episode had 5 pauses for advertising...the first was almost 3 minutes of "Interactive Ads". No way to skip them, it prompts you to hit "OK" to sign up for a streaming service or something else (I refused to hit OK).  Following ones were 30 seconds or a minute and a half.  Not happy with this!
