I'm having the same issues that quite a few members are having today!

There are a number of apps that just aren't loading at all. Some go directly to a black screen, while others just stay locked on the title screen.

There are to many of us having this exact issue for it to be our problem. When does ROKU accept responsibility for this and admit that it's something internal from their end?

Please, enough is enough. This is beyond one or two members having a small hiccup with the ROKU. Something major is happening here.

Since this issue has been affecting multiple channels, the issue might lie with the Roku TV itself. In this case, we recommend performing a factory reset to set your Roku in its brand-new state. Please be aware that factory resetting the Roku device will require you to re-activate the device and may ask for you to re-authenticate some channels.

  • Same thing here: random affecting all Apps except Prime and Youtube.... Tubi is the worse, and then the other e.g. FX, Spectrum, Hulu  etc. hang. Steps, the usual wastes of time: remove, reinstall, restarts, chase down Wifi router DNS and all that jazz. This is a Roku issue.... (my firestick works fine)

      Totally agree this is a Roku problem. I also have a Firestick in the other room, and similar to yours, it's working just fine.

        My phone is working with the app but not on my Hisense tv 

        and Roku chat help desk keeps telling me to contact Pluto 

        I said to them there’s quite few people having an issue 

        this is a Roku issue

      I just tried a handful of channels on my Premiere 3920. This is my lowest performance Roku device, so if any of them would have issues it would be this one. I tried Pluto, Tubi, Hulu, The Roku Channel, and several others. They all worked as expected. 

      Don't make any comparisons with other device platforms. It means nothing that your Fire TV or Apple TV works fine. They are all programmed in a different language and share nothing with the Roku platform. In many cases different platforms connect to different servers, so your Fire Stick is connecting to server A, which is working fine, while the Roku is connected to server B (possibly located in a completely different location) and that server is having problems. That also means you might be having a home network issue that is impacting the Roku but not the other device, or something is happening over the public Internet causing routing issues. Yes, I have seen that happen before, so it's a possibility.

        Again with the finger pointing, and the problem must be mine mentality. I'm having absolutely zero network issues, and neither are the apps in question on other devices. I'd still like to know when Roku finally decides to accept responsibility and start looking into this.

      Right now, the following channels are dead in the water... Pluto, Tubi, Crackle and I'm sure a few others, but I walked away before I smashed the box with a sledge! This Ultra is less than a month old, and for it to already have issues like this leads me to lose a little confidence in the overall brand.

        Pluto station has been wonky for quite some time.  It will just drop and go back to the home screen so if you were watching a movie on demand, you have to reload it from the beginning and scroll through trying to find the same place where it dropped, and then it will drop again 5 minutes later.

      I did have the same issue

      so far Pluto tv was the one station that did not load

      I cannot get CBS, NBC or ABC ABC and I get an error message

  • Me too.  Roku channel won't let me play ANYTHING.  It just circles back to the select page.  Amazon Prime goes black when I play something and freezes up.  I have to turn off the TV to get back to the main screen.

      Once an App lockups (freezes) the EZ (for me) recovery seems doing a cache refresh using the home/up/</> reboot keyboard trick. If I try for example to remove Tubi App once it fails without clearing the cache - it can take minutes to uninstall in what what normally is a few seconds. Definitely an issue.

      This is a fairly new Ultra and was working fine until last Tuesday evening when I first noticed the abnormal behaviors.

  • Bought 4 Roku tvs, mainly for the Roku channel to use instead of Sky.....however, I am unable to play anything on the Roku channel, it says play, I press play and it then loads for 1 second, but does not play. This has been going on for weeks, despite seeking on line assistance and emails to and fro. Have been told yet again that the background team are working on it, but can't find the problem......this isn't on, I would never have paid out for 4 tvs if I had known about this issue. Saying that I AM THANKED FOR MY PATIENCE DOESNT CUT THE MUSTARD, Roku need to get this issue sorted, if their technicians can't do it, they need to pay for professional assistance elsewhere, as their technicians are obviously not as good as they would like to think, otherwise this issue would have been sorted in a day or two, not months and months!Some American subscribers seem to have had the same issue, and SOME of them have been sorted....but this has been going on for round about a year at least, the simplest way to loose custom is to have poor back up....I would never advise anyone to buy a Roku TV now, but would advise against.

      • Tracker ID when this issue occurs. (When you see this issue occur, press the Home button 5 times, followed by the Back button 5 times and provide us with this ID).
      • Steps to reproduce the issue you are seeing.

      Once we have this information, we will be able to investigate further.

    This is also happening for me, but only on the YouTube channel.

    When the YouTube' channel first loads, it goes to black after the initial logo shows.

    If I hit random up & down arrows, It will pick one of the videos more or less at random, I assume from my preferences & favorites lists; but I have no control over what plays.

    I use theRoku TV to watch YouTube primarily. And frankly, almost anything else could have gone down, and I wouldn't have even noticed.

    But not being able to play YouTube is a deal breaker for me.

      I believe this happened as the result of a recent Roku update.

    I've checked that I have the latest update (which I wish I could roll back).

    I have uninstalled and reinstalled the channel. I have turned off and back on the TV. YouTube is still dead in the water.

    I believe that the Roku system operations have been updated to something that is not functioning and needs to be fixed ASAP!

      Kerinbot YouTube is working fine on my Stick 4K+, and I'm even at a hotel using very slow hotel WiFi. I just switched to YouTube, since I was listening to SiriusXM while I'm working. I'm watching last night's SpaceX launch right now, and I even used the remote to move forward to reach the launch and not listen to all their chatter before launch.

        Thanks for replying, but I'm not sure how that helps. This is not a stick. It's a Roku TV. And I believe the problem is with an update to the Roku TV interface, that is somehow incompatible with some channels on some TVs, Including in my case, the Roku YouTube app.

        Since random YouTube videos WILL play after randomly hitting up-and-down, left & right arrows, to blind select something I do not believe the problem is with YouTube itself, but with the new version of the Roku system.

        Roku needs to fix this and push a corrected version out to us all with affected Roku TV hardware!

    My pluto,freevee, prime,  is working but anything on the roku channels are black and won't load

      I don't watch The Roku Channel much, but just fired it up to test it out, since others are reporting problems. I'm currently in a Marriott hotel connected to their WiFi with my Streaming Stick 4K+. I only have about a 9 Mbps connection. That said, I'm watching an episode of Modern Marvels on TRC without a problem. I then switched to a movie (U-571)m and it too is playing fine. I'm only a single data point, but there doesn't seem to be an issue here. 

  • I am also having issues. Ours seems to be primarily an audio synching issue on Hulu but AppleTV does on occasion as well. It seems ridiculous to have to rewind 10 seconds after every commercial so that the audio will synch back up. 

  • I agree, especially when we are paying to watch these shows.I can't get it to play and been trying all day ,and still nothing has changed.

      • Roku device model, serial number, device ID, and software OS/version (these can all be found in Settings > System > About)
      • Does this issue occur on a specific channel? If so, what channel and what version or build is it? (This can be found by selecting the channel on the Home screen and pressing the * button.)
      • Tracker ID when this issue occurs (when you see this issue occur, press the Home button 5 times, followed by the Back button 5 times, and provide us with this ID).
      • Steps to reproduce the issue you are seeing

      Once we have this information, we will be able to pass it along to our appropriate Roku team and further investigate this issue.

        My Roku was working fine but now it skips all over the place.  Pretty much on all channels.  My Max channel was also working fine but now skips and can’t put on what I want to watch. Fubo is the worst problem.  It freezes up and I can only go back to main menu. Skips, freezes, can’t lock into a different show. Seems like a system problem.
