I am having issues with new remote

I bought an upgraded Roku remote with voice command. My old remote works fine and I have access to local channels. But the new remote I do not have local channels. How do I get local channels with this new remote? Is it possible?

    How is it stopping you?  I mean, most of the Roku UI is just moving around with the direction keys and then clicking on a selection, so I don’t understand what one remote would be doing differently than another remote.
