Howdy not ad free
Watching Howdy found some content has ads. Roku said that some content will have ads. That is contrary to their promotional material for Howdy. So does Roku lie to get more money or are they just not good at what they do

How can you help rectify this? I don't want ads if I'm paying
Hello I'm getting ads on the Howdy app I'm not using Roku but going in straight from the Howdy Ap! No fair why does it say ad free and I'm paying and getting ads?
I’ve been watching Unsolved Mysteries and have seen a bunch of Roku interactive ads. I have also seen Roku ads during Anger Management and Dr.G Medical Examiner so I know it’s not a once off.

We see that you're seeing ads on the Howdy app.
We've checked that these shows are also available on The Roku Channel. You might be accessing it through there and not directly on Howdy.
To help us narrow things down, can you please share how you're accessing these shows? A video would help.

No, it’s Howdy. I know what app I’m using. Shows Roku interactive ads during certain shows. I wouldn’t necessarily care; but it’s supposed to be ad free and getting a bunch of ads for Roku is redundant when you’re already using the device.
Just to be clear, Howdy is not "The Roku Channel" without ads. You can access Howdy through "The Roku Channel", but there's plenty of "Roku Channel" content that isn't included with Howdy and will contain ads.
I have been watching a show for a few days now, and all of a sudden....it is riddled with ads. Now didn't it advertise as " always ad free"? I hate it already because I pay extra on my channels to be ad free. I guess I won't have it much longer.....liars!! arghh!!

You mentioned you're seeing ads on Howdy. Just a heads-up: the Howdy app should not display ads on any content. Could you let us know which specific content you tried to access that showed an ad? We'll try to look into it.
