  • Welcome and thank you for posting here in the Roku Community, Foodie2Shoes!

We appreciate you for bringing this to our attention and sincerely regret any trouble and inconvenience this may have caused you.

No worries! We're here to find you the best resolution possible and assist you in the best way we can.

If you have enabled the closed captioning feature under Settings > Accessibility (if unavailable, select Captions) > Captions mode > select your preferred option and you aren't still seeing this on a specific app, it may be possible that they have their features inside their app and doesn't support closed captioning.

In this instance, we highly suggest reaching out to the channel provider's customer support directly and letting them know how to enable closed captioning inside their app, as they are the ones who created, maintained, and updated their app on the Roku streaming platform independently.

Let us know if you have further clarifications and assistance. We'd be glad to continue doing so. Hope this helps!

    Best regards,
    Carly

      Foodie2Shoes-

More and more channels are not using the Roku default settings but substituting their own method of access -- I'm guessing this is so they will have consistent controls with versions of their app running on platforms other than Roku. Often these options are accessed by pressing the up and/or down cursor control keys while viewing the program to pop the channel's own control options on the screen.

In the case of Peacock, while viewing a program, click the UP directional control twice to pop up their control options.  There you'll find the SUBTITLES & AUDIO button.
