  • Hello, I am having this same issue. We just got this roku 2-3 weeks ago. We had no issues with the other one. This one has always been plugged into the wall using the roku cord, it said insufficient power 3-4 nights ago so we changed out the square that it plugs into & it’s been ok for the last couple nights and now it’s saying it again. Please help! We shouldn’t have this issue with a brand new item.

  • RokuDanny-R I don’t know how to PM someone on here, this is my 1st time on the forum but I need assistance with the insufficient power issue also. I have a new roku (less than a month old) that has given us this message multiple times. Please help.
    Thanks!

Cnmwilson1118 you send a PM by clicking a person's name, and from the menu select View Profile (if it doesn't go there automatically). On their profile page is a button to send a private message. Note that some phone browsers will not show the button, so you might need to use a computer to send it.

I've been having this problem for months, sometimes just unplugging and plugging the Roku power cable back in resets it and it works for a bit, but ultimately the same error happens. This is pretty good evidence of a company with a terrible product that's going down in flames. No wonder the company's stock has tanked big time over the last year.

We're sorry to hear about the issue you're experiencing.

We would recommend starting with the suggestions available on the link posted by RokuMary-F above. If still no dice, please reply here with the serial number of the affected Roku device. This can be found in the Settings menu by navigating to Settings > System > About

        Keep us posted!

        All the best,
        Kariza

  • I have 2 Roku units purchased at the same time and I have been receiving the Low Power warnings on both for a while. I keep unplugging them from the outlet, running thru the TV's usb and it happens continually. Can I get these replaced with working units? Thank you.

        Kariza:

Thank you for your prompt reply. It appears that the power adapters are failed or are failing. I plugged one into my Samsung TV usb and it works for a short time and then I get the low power and the ROKU freezes. The other one I just removed from the system. It required constant plugging/unplugging.

        Thank you.

OK  ROKU, Here’s the deal . My express+ is about 2 years old and not even used that much and not even starting to work. It is showing your bogus “ low power” warning and we all know there is no source of power to make it work. So I want you to post here on this support page an address to mail this unit in so you can repair or replace it. By not repairing or replacing it you are admitting that this unit is designed to fail and thousands of users are wasting hours of their time asking for your advice and attempting to fix something that can not be fixed.

  • I am having the same issue.  Everything has been working. Roku is plugged into a wall outlet and there’s only one usb port on the tv.

    Hi Finkelmom

    Welcome to the Roku Community!

If you are getting a low power or insufficient power warning on your Roku device, there are a few things you can do to fix the problem:

    • Check the Power Source: Make sure your Roku device is plugged into a power source that provides enough power for it to function properly. If you are using a USB port on your TV to power your Roku device, try using a wall outlet instead.
    • Use the Proper Power Adapter: Make sure you are using the power adapter that came with your Roku device. Using a different adapter may not provide enough power for the device to function properly.
    • Check the Power Cable: Ensure that the power cable is not damaged and is plugged in properly.
    • Restart the Roku device: Try restarting your Roku device. Make sure to do the restart from the Settings menu by navigating to Settings > System > Power (If you do not see a Power submenu, skip to the next step.) > System restart.
    • Reset the Roku Device: If the above steps do not work, try resetting your Roku device to its default settings. This will erase all of your settings and data, so be sure to back up any important information before resetting.

    We hope it helps!

    Warm regards,
    Lianna
