This new forum software is horrible. Only 4 forums you can post in. No forum to discuss any of this. No obvious way to tell if a post/thread has been read. You cannot subscribe to threads/forums to monitor.
It's obvious you want to eliminate regular users who would help out others. It's just too much work trying to keep track of anything.
I believe the old software would list the date a thread was started, along with the date/time of the last reply. This doesn't. You can't tell if something is basically out of date .
Minor annoyances:
It seems like last visit time and date is gone. I found it interesting to know whether a user ever came back to see if he had any replies.
When you select Newest below the OP in a thread, the reply box is still at the bottom of the thread (below a post that is now old), which seems odd to me. (I know you can press the reply icons, though.)
Also it seems odd that selecting Newest in a thread is the same as setting it in your profile - ie: makes Newest your selection everywhere, and I generally only like Newest as a workaround for revisiting old threads. Then I get confused when I start reading a new thread backwards.
Is there a player tag? (only?)
It seems like the most common tags are "TV & Player Features" and TV & Player Settings", so these are not useful for filtering players FROM TVs. (Seems important since many questions are like: why can't I find [some] menu and the answer is that the user doesn't have that type of device.)
I clicked Show All on the tags field, typed player and got "No tags to show". Then I came back to that Show All later, it comes up with a blank search field and still says "No tags to Show". (This is a bug I assume.)
I reloaded the page, then clicked show all again, and this time there was a list of tags, but searching for player still yields nothing, it's also not that easy to scroll that list of tags when the scrolling list gets larger as you're scrolling it. So I don't know if there's a separate player tag in there. It's weird having the scroll bar thumb jump away from my mouse and having to move back up to grab it again.
Looks like I was editing my post as you typed that. I was hoping for a feature like many forums have that jump you the first post in a thread that you haven't read. These don't rely on having to change the sorting order. (Though that's better than nothing.)
Is there some place to click to go to the newest posts in a thread? Click on thread, scroll to bottom, click "show more" scroll to the to the bottom of that, click "show more"... repeat gets old - especially if the forum randomly decides to refresh the page. (I don't mean like selecting "newest", because I would like the thread to stay in typical chronological order.)
Sometimes I click on notifications and get "no notifications" - other times I get the new more helpful version.
My thoughts so far:
My original reaction was - oh my - another lit. hium (LOL! this forum does not allow it's own name!!!!) forum. My previous ISP switched to a lith - ium forum and many of their regular helpers disappeared, though I can't prove a causal relationship.
Then the first new post I saw was spam, and I thought: hmm what problem were they solving???
Still trying to figure out exactly how to follow threads. This morning I saw the little orange dot on my bell/notification icon, so I clicked, waited for it to think awhile (this forum is really slow sometimes) and then it displayed: no notifications. Um, OK...
Oh, and then it logged me out in just a few hours and I had to sign in and do the 2FA again??? I've heard of things like this happening to other people on the old forum, but I never had to re-login - it always acted like any other forum for me, where a user could stay logged in for years. I suspect spambots are much less likely to be annoyed by having to re-login than real humans.
But then when I logged back in, my notifications page has improved significantly! So apparently, things are still in progress?
I think TVs and media players should be separate forums.
This forum has been Lithium (now called Khoros) since its inception ~7 years ago ;) Nothing new there.
All forums are going to deal with a certain amount of spam, especially forums from brand names. We do our best to stay on top of it and encourage folks to mark topics they see as spam.
Definitely noticing some slowness as well, and I also saw the missing notifications that you're describing, and it's on the list of bug fixes we're submitting to Khoros (keep 'em coming! screenshots are super helpful, as is what you are on desktop or mobile and your browser)
TV and players can now be filtered by the tags at the top. So fewer subforums, but still separation via tags. It's a new way of navigating that we think serves people who liked the old subforums but still makes it easier on more casual users. Try it out for a bit.

RokuAustin Posting times appear to be inaccurate as well. A post about using the device in Japan was posted 2 days ago with a reply 2 days ago, but the main forum page shows a reply 10 minutes ago, which doesn't exist or doesn't show.
A screenshot of what you're seeing would be super helpful here.
RokuAustin At least options in the settings to set colors, bold/not bold and font sizes for individual users would be helpful.
Sounds like we have lots of requests around contrast, highlighting key functions, and other usability improvements. Appreciate it.
RokuAustin Another weird bug, I was just trying to type a reply on another post, I hit return to start a new paragraph, trying to type "You" instead the forum automatically put "And". I tried to do this multiple time with the same result, before eliminating my paragraph and putting the sentences together. Was odd, never seen it do that before.
If you could post a screenshot when you see these odd things, that's super helpful, and we can chat with our vendor about solutions, and it also gives us information like are you on mobile or desktop when you're seeing these issues.
We have a running list going; rest assured, we are definitely looking at all of the feedback here.
