This new forum software is horrible. Only 4 forums you can post in. No forum to discuss any of this. No obvious way to tell if a post/thread has been read. You cannot subscribe to threads/forums to monitor.
It's obvious you want to eliminate regular users who would help out others. It's just too much work trying to keep track of anything.
Some more annoyances. Not sure if it really keeps track of what you have read at all. Clicking on a post with lots of replies just takes you to the top. Worse, as you scroll down, you have to keep clicking a "see more" link to see newer ones. Too easy for people to miss replies. At the minimum, this could hopefully be a user setting you can turn on or off to always show all replies (unless it's there and I missed it.)
RokuAustinShould have done a survey with users who frequently post instead of mainly going with data from "casual" users that may make one or 2 posts a year or never again after a couple posts.
There are too few categories in the forum now. Instead of eliminating categories, why not just add the option for users to hide categories they are not interested in???
It also is harder to follow the thread with the way it attaches replies to certain posts.
Can add that there should also be a separate Networking board/thread/whatever. Stuff like that will just further clog up the TV/Device one.
JanJ, I think Remember Me is just to pre-fill in the login name? My browser does that anyways. This still has that fast auto-logoff if you don't use it for a few minutes. Then logging in can be a pain, especially on a phone, as it seems to want those stupid captcha's, and it can take 3-4 before it finally thinks I am a human.

Still figuring a few things out but you can "Follow a thread" by selecting that little bell next to the Gear icon (upper right under the avatar).
If you select your Avatar and go to your Settings (Follows and Notifications), there are some additional settings there that allow you to see which threads you are following (also boards, etc).
I also switched to Linear under the Threads settings which seems to organize them a bit better and not so jumbled up. (the ability to respond to a particular user mid thread is definitely different.) I guess it is an attempt to avoid the "I wasn't responding to you" arguments when users were not aware of the tagging from the other forum.
I think Roku TVs should have a separate forum category from players as the issues tend to be distinct.
