It looks like you are having an issue with HBO Max on the Roku Channel on the home screen.
If removing an app on the homescreen using the Star (*) button does not work, you can try using the Roku mobile app by launching the app > Select Devices > Select the App on Roku tab > Tap and hold an app to view more options> Tap Remove and confirm your decision.
