Harris Commercials on Roku are lies and deceit

I am about to cancel my subscriptions and throw away my three devices. I will not support a business thar purposefully air lies and slander against former President Thump. The statements made during this commercial have already been proven false and misleading. As VP candidate Walz said “ we cannot have 4 more years of this “. That is the Biden/Harris destruction of America. Goodbye!!!

You're certainly welcome to dispose of your devices if you wish. But first, you don't subscribe to Roku, so there's nothing to cancel. Secondly, you might recall that broadcasters are not permitted to pick and choose what political ads they air. If they accept ads from one political candidate, they are required to provide the same access to other candidates. I can't say for certain if the same rule applies to online services, but it's probably likely.

Your anger is understandable and shared, but misplaced.  Harris commercials are basically lies all around, regardless of which platform you see them on.  If we had to throw away every device which aired deceptive Harris ads, we would run out of landfill space.  As others have pointed out, any platform which airs any political ads must accept all of them.  If not for this rule, many platforms would be removing Trump ads which contain "misinformation", which is government-speak for statement that they don't approve of, even though many of them turn out to be true.  Like when Trump said at the debate with Harris that crime was up under Biden-Harris, and the moderators "fact checked" him pointing out that official FBI statistics said crime was down in 2022.  Just a day or two ago, the FBI quietly "corrected" their erroneous statistic, and it turns out that crime actually was up in 2022, so Trump's debate comment was correct all along, but I wouldn't hold my breath waiting for ABC (the network that aired that debate) to issue a correction.

Harris lies, and Harris and her enabling party and the enabling media are to blame.  Roku is not.

  • I would agree wholeheartedly about the Kamala Harris commercials. They must be paying you guys a lot of money to spread such lies and slander about Donald Trump. None of it is true, I know it you know it the American people know it so I'd appreciate it if you would just take these things off of the air.

When a political ad is created, broadcasters are not allowed to pick and choose what they broadcast. If they allow any political ads, they must allow all of them. So they are not permitted to remove something.

  • What services are you seeing them on? The Roku Channel is the only service Roku has full control of. Others are mostly under the control of that service, with some services revenue sharing giving Roku a few ads

Also, if the GOP is not spending money on Roku or any streaming ads, then it will seem one sided. If you are in a heavily GOP area, then why would they waste money preaching to the choir?

It's absolutely true, Harris and her campaign are telling absolute lies and are getting away with it because the media in the US is very corrupt and biased towards the democrat party. Ads are one thing, but when they are spreading misinformation and there is no fact checking then it is purposely trying to mislead people. Those ads should be banned.

Sorry. There is something called the 1st Amendment. Truth is often in the eye of the beholder. Just ask all the cat-eating illegal Democrats.
