Great British Baking Show VOD?

What happened to the VOD version of the Great British Baking show? It was there yesterday, and today there is a new interface and it is gone. Was it a limited run thing meant to get people into the channel with no intention of it being available long term or a bug in this new interface?

    Hi Community users!

    Thanks for posting and sharing this information.

    As a workaround, let's try to perform a system restart on our Roku streaming devices to check if we notice any difference after it. To do this, kindly navigate to Settings > System > System Restart. Once again, please check to see if the issue has been resolved.

    I have the same issue. I was watching the Great British Baking Show yesterday and it is gone today. WITHOUT any WARNING. I was halfway through Season 7. The final season on Roku, and now I am unable to watch it.

    Literally picked up a Roku just to watch this only to have the show disappear today.

    I guess I will be returning it.

    Agree with all the comments. Why didn't Roku advise that the Bake Off would be dropped. Like everyone else I was in the middle of a seaon. Very frustrating since this is the only way to watch the early seasons. Couldn't even find it on YouTube..made me mad enough to drop Discovery + from Roku.

    Yes same thing happened to me! I was watching the celebrity version and was just starting season 8.

      Understanding that this thread was regarding the VOD (video on demand) library for Great British Baking Show, keep in mind that the Roku Channel also has a live channel for this show in their lineup. (channel 447).  This evening they are currently running S6 of the Celebrity Baking Show for those interested.

      For VOD, looks like Netflix currently is the only one offering it for streaming.

        While I appreciate the availability of the “live” stream, I was in the middle of season 4 and it just vanished. So disappointed!

    So I'm not the only one!
    I don't get it.... nothing from the Roku channel people? 
    I would think that this many dissatisfied customers would warrant some official reply....
    Just an opinion...

    Does anyone know if there is even an option for a paid method to watch these initial shows that Netflix can not offer (did not get a license from what I read)? 

     

    I’m watching was watching on my Samsung Smart TV and was so excited when I found the earlier shows after watching all of the Netflix later shows. 

     

    And Roku should have the courtesy to tell us why they took them off and what options we may have in the future to watch them or perhaps they will release their license and let Netflix show them?

      I noticed a reddit thread that references gbbo discontinuing on roku back in May so I assume this is the extended resolution of that... I'm still confused on Netflix bc I don't have it.. are full seasons 5 and on showing there or not?

        Netflix only has seasons 8 and up. No Mel, Sue or Mary over there. 😥

    WOO HOO it’s back on Roku. I just went in to check and everything is back and working as usual!  Thanks to all for your comments and work to get this fixed. And thank you Roku for listening.

      Are you sure about this? I can only find it Live which so far is only running Extra Slice and Celebrity.

        Try typing baking show in Roku search. It pops up both shows, including an Extra Slice. By the way, I've never seen the Netflix version. Is it any good?

    I found it again today! (8-5-2023) Go out to the starting interface (where there is the menu on the left with Home). Scroll down in that list to Search. Search for Great British (don’t include Bake-Off as the character used for the hyphen is inconsistent and search won’t find it). In the search results under TV and Movies, scroll to the right until you see the GBBO cover image with the chocolate cake and raspberries. Add it to your Saved List and you can then easily find and navigate to all episodes (seasons 1-7). #gbbo

      Celebrity version is still not back, but I'm happy to be able to watch again.  I was working my way through the Celebrity episodes and was on the next to last season.

        Thanks, all. It seems that everything is on there, but they just renamed it all to baking show.

         

        Celebrity version was named Celebrity Baking Show. You will find it under that title.

         

        I guess must have just been one of those rebranding things since their version is the American Baking Show?

      That worked for me too! I cannot select the collection that wants to always show, but typing "Great British" pulled up the correct listing. Thank you!
