Nope, tried keeping it offline (I only do wired connection so just unplugged it) plus I'm the only one living in my home and no one has access to my network. Also, it's not app because you cannot click on volume button on app to go from 0 to 100 in few seconds which you can with remote. You must be "The Flash" to tap volume button on app 100 times so fast.
Does it do it when the batteries are NOT in the remote?

DBDukes Yes, I have tried removing batteries.
Currently, I have Aluminum tape covering its IR receiver so it's not gettign any remote signal. I did that just in chance it's getting signal from a neighbor's remote somehow. I'm leaving tape in it for now.
I have validated that it's no longer getting signal from my remote at all in all angles.
