It will always fail at first, that’s when the communications occur. I have also seen it shows with intermission, on first video after Intermission video. . Depends on how picky the owner wants to be…. It is programmable by the Owners of the Video!
I saw it repetitively on 2 sites, and a couple others randomly, but always in beginning. I’m guessing that the random nature was due to Owner not programming it then. That was repeatable, too!
have not seen it once since the HDMI Splitter, even when intentionally looking for it. Nor would I expect to see a failure. That is THE FIX!
As mentioned before, it was the Panasonic that was failing, NOT ROKU.. If I bypassed PANASONIC (RXV-479) and went straight to Samsung (RU8000), I didn’t see the error! I tested every HDMI cable, up to 45’ with the site that always failed. Every cable failed! EVERY ONE, old, new, 4K HDCP 2.2, it didn’t matter!
I then tested every HDMI Cable-twice more: in between ROKU & Splitter, All Passed, and on a 4K Video server with video that DID NOT HAVE HDCP encoding at all! And — no problems with ANY HDMI CABLE, no matter how old or New!
Again, failure was 100% repeatable as a failure Roku to Panasonic to Samsung, but with path as: ROKU TO SPLITTER TO PANASONIC TO SAMSUNG…… with same playback as before that Failed 100%, NOW PASSES 100%!!!
I think I payed $20-$22 and splitter gets power from Samsung USB on power up.
Done! Just like issues at TV Stations years ago with Blue Ray Discs and HDCP V1.4..
Fixed! HDCP V1.4 Issue fixed by a V1.4 Splitter; HDCP V2.2 Issue fixed by a V2.2 Splitter!
