Device randomly changed to Discovery+app

My device randomly changed to Discovery+. Then it's freezez on this sign up or login account page. I need to reboot the system several times a day. I removed the chanel and completed any updates. I'm very aggravated with this device and ready to change to something else.

  • The same thing has been happening to me for months.

This most recent instance I was watching AppleTV and this time it froze. Couldn't skip it like I normally do and I don't use Discovery+.

This is VERY annoying and many people are complaining. PLEASE figure it out.

Roku issue.  I am not subscibed to Discovery+.  I do not have Discovery+ downloaded onto my Roku but somehow Discovery+ will open up suddenly while I am watching something else and go directly to the Discovery+ sign in page.  Sometimes my Roku will turn on, on its own, and go to the Discovery+ login screen as well.  I have several Roku devices and each of these is doing it.  It is very annoying when my wife and I are watching a show or a movie and all of a sudden we see the Discovery+ plash screen come on and then it goes to the Discovery+ login page.  Roku needs to fix this ASAP.  All of the comments above from Roku reps keep asking about updates and how to get into Discovery+.  As far as Roku updates, I can tell you that it keeps happening even with each new update.  What Roku needs to do is find out why this one rogue app is doing this and find a way to stop it before we, the loyal customers move to something else to use instead of Roku.

Welcome to the Roku Community, 112402!

We appreciate you informing us about this. We'd be more than willing to look closely into this issue and suggest some steps you can try.

Firstly, is there a Discovery+ shortcut button on your Roku physical remote? If so, kindly ensure this button isn't stuck, as this will prevent the app from opening.

Furthermore, please try disabling the 1-touch play feature, as this will prevent your device from opening unwanted outputs. Try navigating to Settings > System > Control other devices > 1-touch play

The exact same thing is happening to me.  I had to unplug the Roku for about 10 minutes for it to resolve itself.  This is so bizarre.  I am pretty sure it's a huge bug somewhere if it's happening to others.  Please fix this.
