Channel search blank screens with repeated network error & continued update prompts.

I unboxed a roku tonight I bought 03/13/2021 and tried to set it up.  It is perpetually stuck on channel search, with blank screens to "download" that is forever loading and never does.  I have tried to update software twice -which was done the first time it connected to the internet, then had a network error and said to go to home to add channels manually, which I tried to do.  That’s where I kept getting a persistent "loading" notice with no results.  So I manually searched for software update without result.  How do I solve this problem?   I have multiple rokus and had limited problems with them.  I have never had this happen.

    We're sorry to hear about the blank screen upon channel search issue you have encountered. We're here to do our best to assist you. Kindly provide the following information for us to have a better understanding of the issue you have:

    • What OS is your device running?
    • Have you tried rebooting your wireless network to see if that makes any difference?
    • For troubleshooting purposes, have you tried to connect to an alternate wireless network to see if you're still seeing the same issue?
