Black screen while watching content

I upgraded 3 of my TVs and I am using the 3 roku sticks I had on my old tvs. Everything was going great then lately I am getting a black screen in the middle of watching tv and only have sound. I unplug my roku stick and wait a minute or so and plug it back in. The black screen goes away and everthing is going great. A week or so later it happens again. It is happening on all 3 tvs that have the old roku sticks. the model of the roku stick is 3820x. Do I need to replace all 3 roku sticks?

  • I’ve got something very similar going on except mine is an older LG tv that was given to me. My niece gave me the Roku box. I’m having the same issues. I end up switiching HDMI ports every time.

    Hi BeckyN02 Dragonbet45,

Thanks for keeping us in the loop!

We'd like to take a closer look at your concern. Could you provide the following information?

    • How is your Roku powered—directly to the wall outlet or through a power strip?
    • Is this happening across all the apps you're trying to use?
    • Try switching the HDMI port on the back of your TV.

Can’t wait to hear back from you.

I want to ask if both of your Roku devices are set to Dolby Vision?  I have found that when my player is set to Dolby Vision.  This happens on some shows.  Try changing screen resolution if you’re using Dolby Vision.
