I am in the UK and cannot see BBC iPlayer 4, 5 or ITVx, apps in the app store.
I bought the Roku Streaming Stick HD in a UK store (Argos). I am not on a VPN, I have factory reset the Roku, and reset my router. My wi-fi gives a strong signal at the Roku stick location.
IP location tool shows my TalkTalk server is in the UK.

spaarks , the Roku account the device is linked to also matters. If your Roku account was created somewhere else or while using something like a VPN that masks your true location, it won't be associated with the UK. You might want to try creating a new Roku account, factory reset the Roku device, and link it to the new account.
I assume this is your only Roku device and you don't have another one linked to the same account that does work.
Thanks. I have only one Roku, bought today in the uk. I have done a factory reset, and reset my router. I do not use a vpn. My isp server is located in the uk.
After nearly 3 hours on the phone to customer support I was finally put through to a specialist advisor. After going through various steps (again) He was able to get into my device and change the settings, presumably in firmware. The Search facility appeared and the Apps mentioned above were available.
I'm not too happy that I had to go through all this - the device should have come with these things enabled.
