Apps not loading on main screen

  • Welcome to the Roku Community, Babs5!

Thanks for reaching out. Apps are tied to your Roku account, so if you add or remove one on a device, it changes on all others linked to that account.

Do you have multiple Roku devices or recognize the email under Settings > System > About?

Let's see if this works for you:
Add the app using the Roku mobile app search feature. Please search for the Apps you want to add and select the option to add them back to your Roku device.

    Looking forward to your update!

    Best,
    The Roku Community Team

A lot of people have been reporting this lately.  For some, a "System restart" found under Settings->System or Settings->System->Power (depending on your Roku model) fixes it.  At least one person reported that moving an app by highlighting it and pressing * on the Roku remote and choosing "Move app" gets it to appear.  It can always be moved back.  If either of those works, let us know.  I haven't seen anything from Roku that would indicate that they know what the problem is or what the definitive solution is.

    Hi pmazzuchelli,

Thank you for bringing this to our attention. We understand that you're having issues with the apps not loading on the main screen. We appreciate the photo you have provided.

Rest assured, we'll flag this concern to the appropriate Roku team for further investigation. To help the team better assess this issue, could you provide us with the following details?

    • Tracker ID when this issue occurs (when you see this issue occur, press the Home button five times, followed by the Back button five times, and provide us with this ID).
Once we have gathered a few more pieces of information, we will be able to pass them along to the appropriate support team to investigate further. We look forward to hearing back from you.

    Sincerely,

I click in BIG10+ app, it goes to BIG10+ app and starts to load but then goes back to Roku home screen. The BIG10+ app never fully loads

WJK1163, your software version is way behind.  Try checking for a "Software update" under Settings->System.

Welcome to the Roku Community, JohnCoombes8024!

Thanks for reaching out. Rest assured that we'll help you get back on streaming,

Before we proceed further, it would be appreciated if you could provide us with additional information such as follows:

      • Is this a newly activated Roku device?
      • Did you make any changes to your network provider?
      • What specific apps are affected by this?

In the meantime, try rebooting your Roku device under Settings > System > Power (skip if unavailable) > System restart to see if this makes any difference.

      Best regards,
      Carly
