AppleTV app is not available on Roku TV and in the region

Today my Apple TV App in my Hisense Roku TV 43, Hisense Model 7Series-43 Hardware ID G221X decided that I was in an unsupported region. I have done everything from removing the app to a factory reset, and when I reinstall and update everything back I get the famous message "Unsupported Region Apple TV is not available in your current country or region. Try signing in." I try signing in and it goes back to the same message. Every other tv, computer, and cellphone in my house works just fine, it seems that the problem is specific to the Hisense Roku TV 43 I have in my bedroom.

  • Hi joejohnh HykerD robwatk,

Thanks for keeping us in the loop!

It looks like this error might be popping up because of the IP address that the Apple TV app is picking up. You might want to reach out to Apple TV support for help with this.

If you’d like to double-check your IP, you can do so by visiting whatismyip.com.

    Hope this helps!

  • I am having the same issue. Was working fine yesterday. I tried scanning from my phone as well as logging in via the remote. Neither worked. My TV is TCL.

  • My TCL Roku TV just started the same nonsense today. Apple support says it’s not their issue as I have no issues viewing Apple TV on other devices in my home.

  • No issues with Netflix, etc. thinking that I’ve relocated to another country, it’s only Apple TV

  • Out of the blue and without me doing anything, it started working again last night. I'm assuming that Apple was updating their software or doing something similar, and the problem was the Apple TV app all along. Thanks RokuJohnB for trying to help. HykerD and robwatk, I hope that your problem was solved the same way.

  • Problem seemed to resolve itself. Thanks all.
