App picture freezes but audio continues after ad breaks

My Roku App picture freezes but audio continues after ad breaks. Issue happens on multiple apps, paramount, netflix etc.

So far only solution is closing down and restarting. Incredibly frustrating when I have ads every 20 mins these days!

  • Hi Dockerz77,

    Welcome to the Roku Community!

We understand that the multiple channels on your Roku keep freezing after ad breaks. No worries, help is here.

Since this happens to multiple channels, we suggest you try the following:

    Reset your Network Connection:

    1. Press Home on your Roku remote
    2. Scroll and select Settings
    3. Select Advanced System settings
    4. Select Network connection reset
    5. Select Reset connection

After the network reset is done, your Roku device will restart and you will need to return to the Settings menu and set up your wireless network again.

If the issue persists, we recommend restarting your router or modem and trying again to load a channel. Please let us know if the issue continues.

    Cheers,
    The Roku Community Team

I have had similar issues lately.  Can I as if your Roku model is capable of Dolby Vision?  If so try going to settings, and go to Display type.  Then take the display quality to HDR instead of Dolby Vision.  This solved it for me.  I have talked to Netflix and Roku about this.  But, of course everyone always wants to try to blame it on the other person.  Instead of working together to come up with a solution.  Roku you need to fix this.
