Any way to hide the channel guide that comes up automatically on Live TV?

Question

Just put a TCL Roku TV in my mom's nursing home room. Every time she switches from the home screen into the live TV channel (cable TV) it brings up the channel guide that only goes away if you hit the ok button. There's only a few channels she watches so she doesn't need the guide, and also the guide just says unknown on every channel so it's useless.

Anyway to stop it from automatically popping up like that? Just don't want to confuse her with that extra step to get rid of it every time.
