Adding an app to my Parents Roku system

My parents have a roku setup in the assisted living facility.  I set it up 2.5 years ago.  They are not computer capable, but can navigate Roku to watch TV and love it.

With the recent fight between YouTube TV and Disney, all of the Disney content sports is off the air ... in the middle of college football season, a major issue for them.

I'm a 1000 miles away.

Could I log into their roku account and add an alternative app for them to use without doing it on their remotes /TVs?  Either on a computer or just logging on to their account with my roku remote and making the add and then it will show up on their Roku setup?

Then I log back out if their account and relogin into my account and everything is back to normal?

Id appreciate any advice.

It’s great that your parents love their Roku setup. You mentioned you’d like to manage their apps by signing in to their account instead of using the remote.

If you have access to the email linked to your parents’ Roku account, you can log in on a computer or the web to add apps. The apps will sync to all Roku devices on that account, but you can’t set up different apps on each device.

Hope this helps! Let us know if you need more info.

Thank you for the input.  I have done that and it worked easily to add ESPN to their Roku account.

I would say the only challenge, for computer challenged people, is that the userid and passwords don't transfer, so I still had to spend a long time on the phone getting that set up.  Most people it would be a 5 minute or less task, for my parents it was 45 minutes.   Nevertheless it is done and working!  Again thanks for your help.

Thanks for the update! I know tech setups can be tricky, especially when usernames and passwords don’t transfer. Glad you got it all sorted out and working!
