Add Paramount+ on the existing Roku account

I have an account for Paramount Plus streaming. I want to add it to Roku, but all I get is the option for the free trial. I don't want to pay again. Is the Roku-Paramount something different?

  • Hi SLSmith,

    Welcome to the Roku Community!

I agree with Kristin2 comment. Some channels on Roku can be accessed through a standalone channel or by subscribing directly through The Roku Channel. If you decide to subscribe directly through The Roku Channel, it's a separate paid subscription, and you won't be able to use any existing credentials.

Just wanted to drop the differences of the channel itself.

Standalone channel- which you can access if you have an existing account.

Channel via The Roku Channel- which cannot be accessed using an existing account but needs a separate subscription through Roku pay.

    I hope this helps.

Let us know if there's any support we can help.

    Thanks,
    Rey

Did you subscribe through a third party like Hulu, Comcast, or AT&T.  I know sometimes that can cause problems with sign in.

Which one of these are you using?  It sounds like you’re using the on the Roku Channel one.  Go to the search section and search for Paramount +.  Don’t use the on the Roku channel one if you already have an account.

We are using the top one.  I do know the difference.   We are NOT using the Roku one

  • We did everything suggested and are STILL getting the “update the payment method” message.  Paramount plus is a separately paid app. And not the Roku.  How does this get fixed?  I’m getting irritated with this…,

Try signing in on your phone, or web browser.  Then try to put in your payment method again.  It shouldn’t charge you again.  You’re just updating the payment method.  Maybe it needs the cvv code or something.

    • Go to Paramount Plus not the with Roku!
    • when clicked it should bring up a screen to sign in on tv, on internet or with another provider.  I chose on the internet. It gives steps and a passcode you need.
I went to Paramountplus.com/roku on my phone
    • It asked for the code on the tv, gave it, all done. Go back to Roku tv

They are the same thing, but you will have to pay for it again.  If you already have an account with them.  You want to get the regular app that does not say on the Roku Channel.  Go to your search, and search for Paramount Plus.  It should come up.

So I just paid for a yeaerly Paramount Plus subscription but it won't open the channel on my roku, it just says to

        get started

        sign out

connect (options are youtube, hulu live, spectrum, etc) I don't have any of these!

I am very frustrated becuase it seems like I just wasted $50!
