ABC New Live app cuts off and defaults to Home screen

ABC News Live app is dysfunctional at best.
First of all, IT AIN'T LIVE... Lets get that straight. (NONE of the "Live" News channels are actually "Live" that I can see.)  It's a 30 minutes recorded segment that replays all day.

But on to the main point;
When I first got my Roku TV, I could watch ABC News Live for about 30 minutes before it would disconnect and go back to the Roku Home screen.
Now, 2 weeks later, it will only play for about 5 - 7 minutes before going back to Home Screen.
I read in the Support Community that Roku blames it on ABC because it's their app, not Roku's.

I call bull.  It ONLY HAPPENS ON MY ROKU TV.
ABC News Live is the only "channel"/app that does this.
If I watch ABC News Live on my "dumb" TV with the streaming box I got from my cable company, it works just fine... not freezing, no going back to the Home screen, etc.

Does anyone have a fix for this or is it just a flaw in the ROKU software/TV?  Thanks ~

    Hi AlphaDog
    Welcome to the Roku Community!

    Does the issue only occur on the ABC New Live app or across other channels installed on your Roku device?

    Have you tried removing the affected channel ABC New Live app and then re-install it again? If not, we suggest starting there. In some cases, removing the affected channel and then re-installing it may help. Restart your device before re-adding the channel back in to ensure the process is successful. We recommend doing this through the Settings menu by navigating to Settings > System > Power (If there is no Power submenu, proceed to the next step.) > System restart.

    For detailed instructions, refer to this Support link for more information: How to resolve a channel playback issue | Official Roku Support.

    Let us know if there's any difference after.

      Hi Roku Team, commenting here because I have the same problem as the original post. I have tried restarting the app as instructed several times with no luck. It’s very frustrating. Any additional insight would be greatly appreciated

    "Live" in streaming terms means you are viewing it as the streaming source is sending it -- you will see whatever the source is sending at the time.  If your source is sending a pre-recorded loop, that's what you are getting because that is what is "live" at the time.

      When I watch the ABC app I log into it through my cable provider and am able to stream true live TV just as if I were watching ABC on Cable. I watch wheel of fortune, jeopardy and all prime time shows in real time
