We need the ability to manually favorite over the air channels to our guide, not that current feature that adds them based on what channels we watch the most. This feature was available before, we were able to "heart" our favorites. There are many channels that we may want to favorite that we don't watch frequently.

This "feature" of auto-favoriting channels is bad. Just plain bad. Please allow the user to make their own d4mn favorites, thank you.

I strongly second the request for a change to "favorites". Having two identical Roku TVs, one that was just updated with OS version 9.2.0 and one with the original 8.0.2 that it was built with... I HATE, HATE, HATE the change made to the "favorites" in 9.2. To be honest, I think the 8.0.2 "favorites" could have been done more elegantly, but the 9.2 downright SUCKS! Stop with the "AI" mentality of "I am the machine, and know what you want"... and instead allow the customer to make such selections. I HATE this operation bad enough that If I had seen this prior, I most likely wouldn't have bought the TVs.

Hello Roku... is anyone home?!? It's been how many months since you implemented this absolutely pathetic operation of "favorites"? When are you going to fix it? The fix needs to start with firing the s/w engineers or "feature architects" that came up with this mess, revert back to what you had previously. It's not that hard...

I suggest for everyone on this forum as pissed off as I am, consider contacting the television manufacturer and voice your displeasure. I would think that maybe then the "fine staff" at Roku my get off their butts and fix this mess. How absolutely pathetic...

I doubt it will get fixed. The company doesn't make any extra money when people are watching OTA/cable television channels, and the people running corporations are pretty greedy, after all. Maybe someone at Roku will get the bright idea to come up with a "new DELUXE" tuner application that costs a dollar per year to use, and that upgrades Roku TV to 1995-era user-programmable channel favorite functionality?

IT WOULD BE GREAT IF WE AS THE OWNER OF THE TV HAD THE RIGHT AND OPTION TO ADD WHATEVER CHANNEL WE WANT TO OUR FAVORITES.
CAN YOU PLEASE ADD THIS OPTION TO THE NEXT UPDATE TO ALLOW US TO SELECT AND ADD CHANNELS TO FAVORITES BASED ON OUR NEEDS.
THIS WILL BRING ME BACK AS A CUSTOMER AGAIN AND WILL STOP MANY OF US FROM SWITCHING TO OTHER BRANDS THAT ACTUALLY ALLOW US AS OWNERS HAVE CONTROL ON OUR TV CHANNEL LIST.
THANK YOU

i finally see what you're talking about with the favorites. i started losing mine yesterday. all the hearts are still checked in all channels, but when i switch to favorites some are gone. i have the stick and a roku tv. i have the spectrum app and thought i was good. is this fixable or roku is controlling it? anybody know?
- w00dyNewbie
I think Spectrum is controlling our antenna channels
- 5427TNewbie
I agree. There should be a way to override the logarithm which decides which channels are favorites off the antenna. I know you can scroll through dozens of channels to find the "non-favorites' above or below the favorites to locate a "lesser-favorite," but it is a lousy solution. Can they add some fix on the next OS update?

I wanted a smart tv so I got a TCL.ROKUTV. What a joke, if I could take it back I would in a heartbeat, it choses my fav. channels for me and then hids them from regular view. This is not a good tv.

Please allow users of Roku devices to choose their own favorites. Why is that a problem?
- blairsair1234Reel Rookie
SMALL problem , but like my channel line up in one spot so i don't miss a good show we could have seen & don't have to scroll channel & favorites to find it. i re-set & dumbed up my TCL tv , working so far..

This would be very useful!

Roku's implementation of "favorites" is worse than useless. First, a selection of channels is randomly chosen by Roku. Channels such as PBS that I watch daily are never added, while channels that I never watch, such as the "LAFF" channel, are never removed. Finally when I go into settings and hide the "favorites" that I have never watched, Roku simply reduces the number of favorites channels!
With favorites enabled, my channel lineup is randomly sorted into two non-sequential groups without any relation to what I actually watch. I finally had to disable the feature and hide the 20+ channels that have no signal or are unwatchable.
This feature is absolutely embarrassing. How can Roku not be ashamed for shipping a feature like this?

I have the same feature request. Let users decide what TV channels need to be designated as Favorites. Make the current algorithm-driven approach optional, or at least, let users manually add channels to the algorithm-generated favorites list.
Roku Product Management/Engineering - are you listening to the many requests on the Roku Community for this? In my opinion, the current implementation is a bug, not a feature!

I cannot believe one has to come here to request a feature they used to have and everyone in the entire world would agree is better than the “upgrade”. Seriously. Let us add favorites to the live tv channels. Funny thing is. This was requested over a year ago and still no change. So this is probably a BIG waste of time. This is why apple blows all others out the water. I’d like to know the genius who came up with the idea to change this. And the other geniuses that agreed to make this change. There is not one person who uses line tv that would be happy about this.
