Accessibility Menu not in Canada

I noticed the settings accessibility menu including Audio Guide is removed from Streaming Stick+ devices in Canada. Specifically, my 3810X device becomes a 3810CA device, and the settings menu disappears.

No one at Roku is providing me with any answers on this including tech support and the customer advocate.

Does anyone know why this happening and when it will be resolved so that blind people (such as my wife) can be given this capability in Canada?

I just bought the Roku with the voice remote and was really hoping to be able to get my hubby to use the menus with the accessibility but alas it does not exist.  It's not just people in the U.S who need these features!

I see it is now another year that has gone by and still no answer on why the Accessibility features don’t exist in Canada OR when they may be turned on...

What the **bleep** is going on?...Just looking for a simple question to be answered and can’t even get that...

Is Roku like the worst company on the planet?

Another 4 months and still have heard NOTHING!!!

Is this question ever going to be answered? Will ROKU ever provide the accessibility settings menu in Canada?

I'm from quebec and I think there is no real support for people in Canada. Nobody answered my question as well.

    Thanks for reaching out here.

Have you tried turning on the audio guide by pressing the * key four times quickly on your Roku remote? This should help enable audio guide to assist with navigating the device interface.

Please send me a private message with your Roku's serial number from Settings>System>About and I'll help get you in touch with our team for more help.

    Thanks,

    Tanner

  • Hey, a little later than you'd want, but I figured it out ... For me anyways. I had the issue on my Roku watching NCIS Hawaii on paramount plus ... NCIS Hawaii is sap enabled, so there's a second audio track. While in show, press *, select accessibility and captions, select audio track, and then change the audio track you're listening to.  In my case, I wanted the sap off. Worked for me, hope that helps!!?

  • May I suggest it has something to do with the fact that Canada is a bilingual country, and perhaps Roku does not want to put an effort into ensuring the feature works in both official languages? They have a semi-official language in the USA (Spanish) that they ought to make work as well.
