Right, this live viewing app that Roku made the choice to install on my roku and CAN'T BE PERMANENTLY DELETED needs to be removed permanently

The apps I use are installed, those are the only ones I use, zero interest in apps being installed without my permission or consent

If a solution to PERMANENTLY remove it isn't given or available then both my roku dongles will be finding permanent residency in a bin

I'll be checking UK law on the matter as well as to the legality of a company accessing it without permission and the fact it cannot be removed permanently

Marked as solved and yet no solution provided about the actual problem

Zero reply from Roku on the solution either

Well in that case I'll be checking the Legality of apps being added without consent or permission

Especially one that could result in a court case for anyone in the UK like myself

Same here - every time I delete the app it reappears after I stop/start the device. As I don't  have a TV licence (for anyone outside of the UK we are required to have a TV licence to watch live TV) it would be very awkward if an enforcement officer should turns up and this app is sitting on my home screen. And yes I know I can refuse to allow an enforcement officer in but even so this having this app forced on us in the UK is not helpful.

For now I've moved the app to the bottom of my home screen although it remains to determined if it will stay there.

Roku - please make this app permanently removable.

How can this be marked as solved??? It’s still can’t be removed permanently. If not sorted I will have to get an alternative streaming box that doesn’t automatically install unwanted apps 🙄

The issue has now been resolved.

I have restarted my device multiple times and so far the LTV Guide tile hasn't returned after being removed.

Thank you very much for fixing it.

  • Hi,

My Roku Stick has just starting Auto Installing the 'Live TV Listing' App.   However, every time I delete the App, it immediately reinstalls.   I have had my stick for a number of years & this is the first time, this has ever happened.

I use my stick Only for streaming services & due to My countries backward Law regarding Live TV , I cannot have any form of live TV on my stick.

Could you please advise How I can permanently remove this app from my Stick.

Sorry, I find this unacceptable & assume against some from of Digital Data Law.

If this is not solved  will , sadly, have to find a different streaming stick that allows me show no live TV Apps.

    Thank you.

As per request on Reddit thread:

    Device 1:
    Model:  3820EU2-Streaming Stick 4K
    Device ID:  S0JA34A757U7
    S/N:  X02500F757U7
    Software Version: 14.6

    Device 2:
    Model:  3820EU- Streaming Stick 4K
    Device Id:  S09241DUD03U
    Serial Number:  X01700WUD03U
    Software Version: 14.6

'Live App' has been uninstalled multiple times on both devices but always reappears the next time the Roku is powered on, so can't provide any 'Tracker Id'.  Assume it installs this in the background whenever it feels like it!

Please get this resolved, it's extremely annoying and unwanted behaviour.
