[Under Investigation] Paramount Plus rewinds when "Skip Intro" button is hit

Hey everyone!

We’re aware of an issue with Paramount+ where the video rewinds when you hit the "Skip Intro" button.

Status update (5/15): Our team is currently investigating.

To help us look into it further, could you share the following details?

  • Roku device model, Device ID, Serial Number, and Software version
    (Settings > System > About)

  • Tracker ID (Press Home 5 times, then Back 5 times)

  • App build version (Highlight the app on the Home screen and press the * button)

  • The specific content where you saw the issue

  • Your Paramount+ subscription plan

  • If possible, a short video showing what’s happening

        I've even done a factory reset. So everything is brand new.  Still the same frustration.

      Same here, has happened through multiple resets, app deletions/re-installs etc. 

      This is 100% a bug, not an isolated incident. That said it seems to be isolated to Paramount+; I’ve never had the issue w other streaming apps on Roku.

      Same all my apps work fine except for paramountplus. It's really irritating.

      I have Paramount+/Showtime and watch on a Roku TV.  Despite the claim of no ads, some shows begin with a promotional video advertising another show on Paramount+.  This cannot be skipped, which is annoying enough, but something else has been occurring which is very irritating.  After watching the promotional video, if I attempt to move forward or backward using the navigation key, it will jump back to the beginning and force me to watch the promotional video in its entirety, again.  At that point I can't even navigate to where I was because it keeps forcing me to the beginning.  The one, apparent, workaround I have found is to exit the show I'm watching and then reenter.  At that point, it doesn't show the promotional video and I can navigate  without issue.

      I don't know how to predict when these promotional videos will appear and haven't enough data points to identify other possible workarounds or even if my workaround works consistently but this has occurred several times and I hoped that by reporting it someone might look for and fix the issue.

    I have had this issue, as well as fast forward/stop resulting in going back to the beginning of the show.  This has been occurring intermittently for a week or two.  I also have 2 relatively new (weeks old) Roku rechargeable remotes but unsure if these have any correlation.  The requested info is below:

    • Roku device model, Device ID, Serial Number, and Software version
      (Settings > System > About)

    • Tracker ID (Press Home 5 times, then Back 5 times)

    • The specific content where you saw the issue: MULTIPLE, including NCIS, SkyMed, Fire Country, FBI x all 3, etc.

    • Your Paramount+ subscription plan: Ad-free

      UPDATE:  Issue completely resolved when PP+ app update was available & applied yesterday.  

  • So it’s really worse than just skip intro on two of my tvs. It’s if you hit forward, reverse, 30 sec rewind, skip recap and skip intro. One of my tvs is a brand new Roku tv the other is a few years old. Seems to be a bug in the app. Here’s my device info:

      Also this happens on anything you watch. Not just one or two shows, it’s all of them

  • Mine was doing the same thing and then I found this and did it and it works great now

    Select the home menu on the remote

    Press these keys, the home button five times

    Up button(once) 

    Rewind (twice) 

    Fast forward (twice) 

    Wait for your Roku to restart might take a second, once it restarted I went back to Paramount and it's works just fine now

      This worked for me. Everyone try it.

      Mine was doing the same thing and then I found this and did it and it works great now
