[Under Investigation] Distorted Screen on Roku

Hey everyone!

Status Update – 6/20:
We’re currently investigating reports of a distorted screen appearing on some Roku devices.

If you're able to access your device settings, it would be a big help if you could share the following info:

  • Roku device info: Device model, Device ID, Serial number, and Software version (found under Settings > System > About)
  • Tracker ID (press the Home button 5 times, then the Back button 5 times)

In the meantime, please try the following:

  1. Connect your Roku to a different TV to see if the issue persists.
  2. If it continues, try performing a factory reset and let us know if that helps.

We’ll keep this thread updated as we learn more. Thanks again for your help and for being part of the Roku community!

    Hey everyone!

Our team is still investigating the distorted issue.

We just wanted to follow up and check if you're still experiencing the problem.
If you haven’t shared the necessary info yet, please send it our way so we can look into it further.

My Roku was working fine when I shut it off Thursday night to go to bed. When I turned it on Friday night, all I get is a scrambled screen which I cannot read anything on it. I can’t even see any words to check anything. Now that I read this, it sounds like it could be an issue caused by the update. I can’t even check on the update because of the screen being so scrambled. I can’t see any of the words.
Is there any news on when you’ll have this fixed? In the meantime, I am unable to watch TV because I need help getting the Roku working again.

this happened when we immediately turned on the ROKU. The tv and Roku had been on earlier, we switched to watch tv antenna. Then shut everything off for a few hours. Later when we turned Roku on again it looked like that.
So as of right now everything is working fine. When we woke up this morning and turned the tv on, the Roku was working fine.  We have a model 4660x Roku ultra. Serial, YJOO7K243983. device ID Ck37D7243983. Software 14.5   Thank you!

Is there a fix for this? I am having a similar issue. Roku ultra was working fine earlier today and now completely distorted. Tried to restart it multiple times with no luck. Also unplugged it and waited a few minutes, no luck.

Did you try unplugging the power from both the TV and the Ultra for several minutes?

      Hello,

This is similar to an older issue marked as fixed but it's not fixed - I have my Roku up to date. This issue starts with text in text boxes disappearing and then eventually leads to corruption of the video until I restart the Roku. Please fix this, having to restart the Roku multiple times a day isn't an adequate solution.

      thank you
