  • NO it is not resolved...For over a year this appears when trying to use TCM on ROKU... "Authorization for this content failed" ... you click ok and back to the home screen you go... Really, really frustrating as so many people post fixes that fix nothing and run you in a never ending circle of uselessness...Is there no one in the entire world that knows anything?

Sorry you're having this problem but that wasn't and hasn't been the original problem I posted.  Never had "authentication failed".  This was not a fix for the problem you are stating.  My problem was a crash after initializing but it must have been a buggy update by TCM.  I've never had a failed authentication error as your noting.  The problem I originally noticed was fixed in less than 24 hours.

Now Watch TCM again loading okay for me.   Reported app version unchanged, still 1.0, build 111.

Starting sometime yesterday my Watch TCM app will not load.  I get a second or less of their initial "parade of Cs" graphic and sound then it immediately returns to the Roku home screen.  It is the same on three different installed Roku streamers.

I have done the following numerous times:

    • remove the app
    • reboot the Roku to clear its cache via Settings / System /  Power /  System restart
    • reload the Watch TCM app, reloading both from the onscreen user interface and from the channel store website, with the same results.

Settings / System / Software update / Check now continues to indicate all is up to date.  Highlighting Watch TCM on the channel grid, pressing * on the remote, and clicking Check for updates continues to result in reporting "Watch TCM has been updated", but the reported version number (1.0, build 111) does not change.

    From my most-used setup (livingroom):
    Roku model:  Roku Ultra 4800RW
    Serial number: X01000VT0XEK
    Software version: 14.5

Thank you.  Prior to posting I did forum searches for both Watch TCM and Turner Classic and neither found that thread.

  • TCM's Roku app has never given me problems until today. I uninstalled TCM app, restarted Roku, reinstalled TCM, updated it and yet it is crashing about a second after initializing TCM. I read in the Roku tech support to contact TCM since the deal with the actual Roku app, but I don't know how to contact them. If anyone is experiencing this problem and/or knows how to contact their tech support I'd appreciate it. I've tried everything and don't know what to do.

I was also having this issue on both my devices last night and this morning, but it seems to work now.
